The Core
Disaster movie! Of course, the premise ("The earth's core has stopped rotating! *ShrIEk* Hey! I know! Let's nuke it!") is incredibly silly, and the laws of physics the movie plot relies on appears not to be the same as in our universe, but overall it's an enjoyable movie. Bruce Greenwood, who plays a smaller role in the movie, is criminally underused...

There are 2 types of disaster movies - those who take themselves seriously and those who don't. "Serious" disaster movies (the kind Roland Emmerich likes to make) are unbelievably stupid and their only purpose is show cool special effects, mostly the destruction of New York. Disaster movies that don't take themselves seriously, like Armageddon and The Core are stupid too but fun to watch ...

I'm not sure I agree about Emmerich. I can see where you're coming from on "The Day After Tomorrow", but "Independence Day"? It doesn't take itself very seriously at all, what with a wisecracking Will Smith and all. Can't comment on Godzilla, I could only stand about 10 minutes before turning it off. I quite liked both TDAT and ID4 though (not to mention his best flick to date, "Stargate", but obviously that's not a disaster movie).

ID4 had its moments with Will Smith and Jeff Goldblum, but it also had stuff like president's speech towards the end of the movie ... TDAT was stupid and boring ...

Yeah, tell me about it, I hate when they destroy NY, there are too many big cities around! go destroy the Sears Towers and the Fenway Park for a change! From meteroites to big lizards, from snow, to weird aliens, form a mashmellow man to Osama Bin Laden, what's next?

Ha. Funny you should word it that way. When i saw the trailer, that's exactly how it came across to me.

I just saw House of 1000 Corpses, finally. FINALLY. It's quite a funny movie. Recommended to anyone who has a dark streak and a bag of Tostitos.

I just saw "The Boogeyman". I actually enjoyed it, even I don't like horror movies very much.. It was quite scary part time.. There wasn't much sence but I guess horror movies are based on "there is no sence"

I watched "Walking Tall" tonight. On DVD.
There is a rumor The Rock is slated to play in a remake of Conan. But, I think its another strongman.

Ghost Ship (Sea Evil)

Miserable! Beginning is awesome, but all other movie is just horrible shit. The movie isn't scary, and it's main trouble. Also all deaths are boring and there is not very much action.

SPOILER -- Also least-favourite character don't die, but all others will... -- SPOILER

Good
+ Beginning
+ Some actors

Bad
- Not scary, even this is horror-movie
- Boring
- Lots more things...

Alone In The Dark ...

I've read on many forums that it's one of the worst movies ever made and got interested ... It is one of the worst movies ever made indeed. The plot is so incoherent that even a 3-minute long written explanation in the beginning of the movie (Star Wars style) doesn't help, I'd be glad if anyone explains me what was it about. The acting is horrible (Tara Reid plays an archeologist, yes - an archeologist), the editing is horrible, everything is horrible and the movie also has the most stupid and pointless sex scene ever... I've seen better movies on MST3k ... The only bright spot is a Nightwish song in closing credits but if I were in Nightwish, I'd Be ashamed of the fact that my song appears in this piece of shit ...

What is MST3k Shurik?
Mistery Science Theater 3000, a TV show that took really bad movies and made fun of them ...
http://mst3k-review.home.mindspring.com/
A hillarious thing, the guys who did this show had a talent of turning a truly bad movie into very enjoyable one, try Space Mutiny, Hobgoblins, Bride Of A Monster, Invasion Of A Neptune Men or Manos:The Hands Of Fate ...

I just saw Oceans 12.
See the thing about that movie, and the movie before it:
I mean it would be totally awesome if they pulled it off and stole the money and everything from a viewers standpoint, but it didn't actually happen! . They didn't actually think of those elaborate schemes on the fly, and everything is so hypothetical that I can't bring myself to enjoy the movie.

War Of The Worlds - good movie, tense, well made, classic Spielberg ... The only bad part are the kids, especially the constantly screaming girl.

I saw Charlie And The Chocolate Factory last weekend, it was allright, but the first one was way better. Even though this one got more into Wonka's mind....

Deep was awesome.

I want to see this movie, but it opens here only on 28th ...
Burton is the best director nowadays and Depp is the best actor, and combination of those two always brings great results ...

Well, my friend, I highly recomend it to u.
It has more imagination than the first one.
And things, are more clear in a way....

Ironically, I was not expecting such a er...weird movie from Burton.

Commando

I watched yesterday night (or should I say tonight  ) Commando. I haven't seen it for a long time. Arnold Schwarzenegger is just perfect main character, but the movie turns a bit of to comedy, even this is action film. Arnold has so many awesome one-liners, that this movie is classic!

+ King Schwarzenegger!!!!!!!!
+ One-liners
+ There is much of comedy-elements
+ Ultimate music score

- Maybe a bit too much Action
- Bennet, that fat bad guy, is just ridiculous

Overall: One of the best movies of Arnold Schwarzenegger!
* * * *

Again, more Schwarzenegger!!

Predator

I bought this DVD from Internet. Very good. Arnold was even better than in Commando or Terminator(s). Beginning was normal Arnold-shooting and there was many awesome one-liners at movie (example: there is something in the jungle, and that isn't man! or something like this). Last 30 minutes of the movie were VERY GOOD, one of the highlights of the movie history. Legend, fucking good movie!

+ Arnold is king!!!
+ Actors and one-liners
+ Predator
+ Last 30 minutes

- Not very scary to me
- Some deaths
- Some little things

Overall:
* * * * OR * * * * ½ I can't decide.

The whole Alien Trilogy.

plus sides:
+Plastic aliens
+Main characters
+When the new alien comes out from ones stomach

minus sides:
-Then again the adult aliens are stupid
-the alien Queen was an idiot

I'd say 7/10 for this package.
