Some people are finding their way out of the internet shutdown. Some people have gotten access to dialup connections, and some have been fortunate to get limited DSL access. People will find a way to get internet one way or another. Because in some areas its the only connection with the outside world.

So, the government thought they would punish the people by taking their internet away but it actually made them angrier and more hostile. Is the government ruled by idiots? You cannot treat people like little children and expect to get results, and thats what the Egypt government did---treated its people like children. Now chaos rules.

All those black metal bands should take all their crystal music boxes and do concerts on the streets to fuel the spirits. Maybe glass-metal... We need YOU mr Stock... and your self-indulged composing skills :x

Riots are still going strong in Egypt.
However, many people have became creative in gaining some useage of the Internet. Even getting low baud dialup connections. I feel so sorry for them!

What the HELL are you talking about? At one time there were about half-a-million Webtv users in the USA alone until computers got so much cheaper. I read what I posted on PCWorld website, so they know whats going on over there in Egypt. That is how they have to communicate over there, through low baudrate dialup connections. They hate it, but they are desperate.

Google it. LOL
One of Bill Gates toys. Its a box you hook up to your TV, and it can be used to surf the net, post on forums, and send email. I used one of the things for 8 years until I finally got a computer. Now I wonder why I wasted so much time using one of those gadgets.
But, people are always tinkering with Webtv's, trying to get them to do different things, and some are still being used in more distant parts of the world.

Prediction: Mubarak out (if he has any common sense left, he'll 'retire' asap), ElBardei in, no real change in the direction of the country.

Better this gets resolved sooner than later.

All of the videos that I've seen on YouTube look pretty bad. One news story said that over 300 had been killed at a rather large march in Cairo.

ElBardei - the one who allowed Iran to advance their nuclear program and got a Nobel Peace prize for that? He seems to be the leader of the protests, but he has no real "fanbase" in Egypt, due to his living outside of the country for a long time. Putting him in the head of the protests makes those protests look good and democratic, but even if he will lead Egypt next, the power will eventually go to islamists and we'll get another Iran, this time armed to the teeth with the best offerings of an American military industry. But all of this already happened in Iran 32 years ago, so it shouldn't surprise anyone.

Maybe Shurik you're right but I hope that touristic inputs are better than delusion of power, and we will have more Turkey-like model. I have either positive and negative feelings about this issue
