Hilarious; this song is not a very sincere artistic expression, now is it?
Cheers,

this cant be for real...anything goes when you can take kids money.
here are the lyrics for the "tricky part"
Yesterday was Thursday, Thursday
Today i-is Friday, Friday (Partyin')
We-we-we so excited
We so excited
We gonna have a ball today
Tomorrow is Saturday
And Sunday comes after ... wards
I don't want this weekend to end
fucks sake

The saddest part is that the lyrics aren't written by this thirteen year old wich would make is more acceptable but they're written by 30-somethings.

She didn't make shit. Ark Music, the company behind this and other similarly horrific abuses of popular culture, are the ones reaping any benefits of this meme.

lets say the song eraned a million bucks to the label....and in the worst case she pockets 100000$, still is a lot of money...for this crap.
money no one of us have.
Forbes magazine created a small kerfuffle this morning with an article entitled “Mock Rebecca Black All You Want, She’s Laughing to the Bank.” The piece’s central conceit was that despite the hate “Friday” teen sensation Rebecca Black may be receiving from various corners of the ‘Net, she’s making out like a bandit financially. Writer Chris Barth estimated that “Friday” had sold over two million downloads on iTunes, and had generated a cool mil in profit for Black and her “label,” Ark Music Factory.
Not so fast, predatory money-management firms! Earlier today, Glenn Peoples of Billboard crunched the numbers on Black’s sales, and found that her final take-home was far less than Forbes guesstimated. Peoples wrote that “Friday” had sold around 40,000 downloads on iTunes last week, not two million as reported by Forbes, and that from those 40k, Black and Ark were pocketing about $25,000. (Peoples also points out that she might be able to make $15,000-$20,000 extra for her 33 million YouTube views if she set up a content partner agreement ahead of time.)
So it looks like Black’s going to have to continue riding to school in the backseat of her friends’ convertible for at least a little while before she can afford her own G6. In the meantime, the “Friday” juggernaut continues to roll on, with Black making her first late night appearance tonight on the Jay Leno show. See if fellow guests Duran Duran bring the newly-curly Rebecca out for a Twitter-exploding “Hungry Like the Wolf” duet!

oh to be so naive about the music industry.
Record companies are experts at contracts that even fuck over grown adult,s what do you think they really offered an excited parents and a 13 year old girl?

Of that $25,000, her parents would be extremely lucky to take maybe 10-15% of it (she's too young to take that money for herself, if her parents don't take it for themselves then best-case scenario for her is it gets put into a trust fund which she can't touch until she's 18) provided they actually signed a contract with Ark that meant they got a cut of the royalties. It's quite possible they didn't.
So, for an initial $2,000 investment, they maybe made a $500 - $1,000 profit.
Anyway, with the amount of mental scarring she will endure due to Rule 34, they're going to spend anything they make on therapy.

she will have a concert every Friday and make millions that way. these things generate the money on tours not song sales or internet buzz alone, although the internet will help her sell those seats every Friday.

I somewhat doubt enough people will pay to see her lip-synch to one song for her to make millions.
One of the reasons internet buzz spreads so rapidly and widely is because for the most part, it's free.

If they have a youtube partnership they can make a bunch of money that way. You have to have thousands of views at first to start making it, but, (how many does that one have? 50 million? LOL) there are popular youtubers out there who upload tons and tons of stupid shit everyday that kids eat up. They make a living from it. It blows my mind!! Like that bitch with the huge tits. And whoever else that's always featured. 30 grand and more a year......just...for....youtube.

You know, I think Adrian Vandenberg's got a point here. If a million people see this video or hear this song, most will not really dig it. But some
will like it - perhaps to be different or counter-trendy or whatever; that really doesn't matter because this is not a philosophical discussion. You know the AIDA model (attention, interest, desire, action) used in marketing? If you inflate the attention bubble enough, the likelihood of the other three events happening - all the way down to action (which means purchase) - increases. It works like a siphon, you know. Create BIG exposure and something will always stick. Like Neonvomit says, most stuff on the internet is free, so there is no limit to the amount of exposure possible. Scary thought really...
Is this going to be the new trend then? Record companies creating something so daft that it goes viral in a mere couple of hours and then picking up the crumbs? Wow, I can do daft too. No problem...
Cheerio,
Damien

I like u bro- now you are talking., of course there is a bit of that and luck...how many bad stuff is out there in you tube we dont know yet,all of them earning no money???? and how many girls upload their stuff, awesome stuff, and nobody donwload the mp3 for free one single time??? is all marketing and buzz.
after the 15 min of fame are gone is up to the "artist" to stay in the game, only the truly talented stay of course.
chances are this girl is already on her way to the back exit.
