Final release of the long awaited Firefox 4 browser is scheduled for March 22, 2011.

Finally!

I'm using RC1 for about a week and like it. All the add-ons I use are working (the last one, FoxyTunes, was fixed today) ...

Don't know if I'll upgrade. This looks as fucking ugly as Chrome.

It's about time for this final release! There have been a few postpones, and 15 updates. So, maybe it's finally ready.
I use IE about 20% of the time, and Firefox the rest. I have a spare browser(Avant)that is IE-based and I use it when dollmaking sites are incompatible with Firefox(Avant=the remaining 5%). Maybe the 4.0 version will fix that since supposedly the drag and drop feature has been enhanced. Firefox is the fastest browser I have experienced, but that's just my opinion. And, yes, I tried Chrome. Didn't like it.

Just add the IE tab add-on and you'll never have to open Internet Exploder again.
I also tried Chrome a couple of times and didn't like it.

Thanks for that tip about the tab---I will look into that!

I have used Firefox so long time and for me it's the best browser. IE has security holes and I don't like Chrome.

When I bought my computer last year the previous owner left the last version of Netscape, which is based on Firefox, and I tried it out. It was actually faster than IE but since it had not been updated since 2008, and has lost support I decided I better get Firefox. I still have the Netscape installed and a couple weeks ago gave it a spin again. Made me wonder why so many people abandoned it. Now that AOL is slowly slipping into the abyss I guess soon Netscape will be done totally away.

I am going to upgrade tonight. I do not have time this morning because probably it will take awhile on this confounded dial-up. Looking forward to it. BTW, I installed the IE tab thingy and it does work well!

I'm not really concerned with the spyware. I've actually seen vids and articles on all the work Google does into perfecting the user experience, so if they want to watch me browse the stratovarius forum, more power to them

I installed FF 4 today. I have to use it a little more time until I can say something about it. At the moment it seems to be working fine, although there's some problems with AdBlock Plus addon. A new version of AdBlock Plus will come out in Friday. I also installed Status-4-Evar addon which will bring the old status bar back.
