Well, Bush finished his second term with a 13% "strongly approve" rating, compared to 23% from Obama. He's still doing better in the numbers, and I would not be surprised if he is re-elected for a second term.
Naturally, more people will complain about the current president than say, Howard Taft or Julius Caesar.
Most of politics is marketing, anyway. The approval ratings don't reflect the performance of the president in any meaningful way.

Based on the folks who plan to run in the next election I'd say, Yep, Obama has it sown up in a bag for a second term. If the GOP wants a good, clean fight on their hands they better get their ass in gear and get a great candidate, just for competition sake if nothing else.

The magic negro had better hope that the economy improves between now and the next election, or otherwise, he's toast as far as electoral votes are concerned.

What has Obama changed that would leave anyone hankering for Bush? I mean he extended the tax cuts, Gitmo is still open, the wars are still on, the patriot act was renewed. Don't Ask Don't Tell and half a health care bill aren't much.
Besides which, most people are pretty much stuck. You really think minorities, gays, lower income people are going to vote for Michelle Bachman just because Obama can't keep his promises? Republican social policies are far too retarded to overlook in favor of their economic policies, which they either don't enact or don't work anyway.
Personally I am settling in for another 40 years of voter apathy. Recent years of legislative gridlock and obstructionism have jaded any youth vote that once held hope in democracy.

Did anyone hear his speech last night? He is going to bring the soldiers home from Afganistan by years end. Let's hope so. I don't know about iraq, but that's a start. And, yeah, I suppose he wants a second term.

Actually, he said he would reduce troop levels by about 30,000 by summer 2012, Which is about the same number as he added to Afghanistan when he entered office.. Only 10,000 by the end of this year.
When will the troops really come home? Probably about the same time they come home from Germany and Japan (never).

It is a true shame that Obama inherit this war from bush...he was stuck with it since day one and hell at least he offers a decent solution. bush surely would keep the troops till the end of the days.

I think the way people irrationally idolize Obama is a very sad reflection of the state of our society. To me, he is no better or worse than Bush. Just another politician.
I also think if I saved my perspiration over the course of a lifetime, I could start a sweatshop.

Yeah, if Obama gives her a banana she has to give him one, too!

If I irrationally idolized obama I would say something like..."he is saving the world" or stuff like that, I truly respect what he is doing with the problems he inherit, in my humble opinion he is better than bush because bush put the USA in that war and that economy problems and Obama gotta deal with it and try to solve it in no time. and again, thats why he rocks. and you not.

What is he doing that is such a sweeping statement of his good character? The fact that he has to deal with problems that he inherited does not suggest that he is doing any better than anyone else would have, in his place. Not only has he maintained troops in both Iraq and Afghanistan, but he got our nose into the whole Libya affair. In other words, he added another war on top of the ones he inherited, while spending massive amounts of money on health care and corporate bailouts...in the middle of a recession.
Obama has a cult of personality built around him, that easily rivals that of Stalin or Kim Jong Il. Politics is all a matter of marketing, and Obama is a very marketable guy. Young, ethnically "diverse", good looking (at least compared to the rest of the wrinkly old white guys in Congress). His campaign staff sit around coming up with retarded phrases like "YES WE CAN!!!", "TIME FOR CHANGE!!!" and everyone just laps it up.
The reason
I don't rock, by the way, has nothing to do with my failure to fix the economy. Its a long and sad tale of chronic acne flareups, bad social skills, poor hygiene, and erections at inappropriate times. Thanks for bringing it up.
