Iced Earth - Dystopia
No contest for me really, although at least Stratovarius, Dream Theater, Megadeth, Nightwish, Edguy and Symphony X all released fine (or at least ok) albums. I still have to check out the new Moonsorrow album though.

I forgot about this, amazing production. they are pretty under the radar over here. i only got to hear two tracks in early 2011.

There's been a lot of pretty good albums in 2011 but the only one I'd really put up for this is

Surprised to see Divinefire so high, I thought it was pretty good, but it didn't really keep me interested through the year

I think that Dystopia is a great album too!

I would put NW's Imaginaerum but I didn't really give a shit about it one way or the other, and I wanted to hurt some cute fluffy animals after I listened to the atrocity Morbid Angel put out.
