Kindda cool I guess. I like the "folk" flavor it has to it.

That... wasn't terrible.

Actually, I've been listening through to the advance promo of the album that I got ahold of, and, it doesn't suck. No really.

nothing any worse than stratovarius or other metal bands that play the same music yet don't get shit about it.

WTF. It is highly ironic that I hear this from you, yet I am too damn tired to articulate exactly why. :?

Ok. I'm ready. Ordinarily, its impossible to convince you that two bands play the same music. You would say something like "show me two 30 second vocal passages which have the exact same pitch, harmony, vibrato, vocal timbre, and underlying sexual angst"

there is a difference between saying bands sound the same verse saying they use some of the same techniques and styles and play them proficiently. bands can play the same thing and sound different doing it.

You didn't say they "sound the same". You said they "play the same music".
bands can play the same thing and sound different doing it.
Then it isn't the same. If it sounds different it is different, and if it is different, it isn't the same.

Therefore, you can't claim "other bands play the same music as Dragonforce and don't get shit about it", since you failed to prove that the music is the same.

Isn't it annoying when I cling to the literal meaning of every sentence to convince others I possess an unnaturally deep level of critical thinking?

Then it isn't the same. If it sounds different it is different, and if it is different, it isn't the same.
then how do you explain reamping or audio effects?

1 person does 1 recording, that one recording can be made to sound a whole range of possibilities, it's still that 1 person doing that 1 recording.

So you suggest that many bands really play the exact same music as Dragonforce, and only minor audio effects differentiate them during the production process?

Why do they sound different in a live environment?

"show me two 30 second clips..."

:bandit:

i suggest many bands use the same music theory and techneges as part of their music.
a few examples can be drum patterns, solos, rythem patterns for bass and rythem guitar, harmonies, chord progressions,

This may be true, but what you said earlier is that "other metal bands play the same music". NOT "other metal bands play music with similar drum patterns and song structures".

I have no girlfriend, no job, and no life. I can basically continue this discussion forever.

Otherwise, we can simply agree that refuting the literal meaning of a sentence does not necessarily invalidate the underlying argument, and we can end this madness.
