So I read on Jani's blog (and others who read his blog will know this already) and he said that he's going to TRY to put a Cain's Offering II together. It's not set in stone yet but he's going to try for it for sure.
He's unsure if Timo Kotipelto will be singing for him again though (I hope he will, he's got a fantastic singing voice) What do y'all think of this?

Haha Jani is a very talented guy. It's a shame he left Sonata Arctica though, he did found it after all. But he's still great on his own.
Yea true there are many good singers in this world but Timo and Jani together in a group are really powerful music-wise. Not saying any other singers would suck or anything but I'd be a little sad to hear that Timo's not in Cain's Offering II.

All knows here that kotipelto put tons in stratovarius, and put a bit away to jani, its sad that jani have a lot delay with his projects!!!!!!! Kotipelto is big but jani is jani!!!
i ear that tony kakko kick to jani after the finland army why he likes more the new guitarrist..... welll.... like guitarrist i like more jani that Timo tolkki, and im tell you a lot why i love to tolkki guitar!!!!!!
for me Jani is like mix the Tolkki feelling with (sound and all) with the Matias skills about speed fingers only that jani is more powermetal that matias naturally
about cain ofering, its interesanting why jani compose strange songs....
Seriously im more fan to tolkki compositions.....
one think more...... about the matias (I never remember his hard last name, the same happen with jani) WHY YOU NOT USE THE SOUND THAT YOU DO IN THE BALLAD "If The Story Is Over", THAT YOU USE IN BACKING GUITARS!!!!!! FUCKING HEELLLLLLL!!!!!! I CAN DIE FOR GOT THIS SOUND!!!!!!!!
FACE IT MATIAS, FACE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Cain's Offering II
Ah that's true. Haha I don't think anyone knows what Jani has in his red head.
Yea Jani had a delay in his Sydanpuu thing but he released the single, so he's on his way. I think it's great that Jani and Timo work together, they seem to have lots of fun. Haha yea Timo is big but Jani is just something else. Kinda like it that way really.
No Tony Kakko didn't kick him out...I heard he had something or the other problems with the Finland army and something happened about his passport after that so he couldn't travel for the tour so he had to quit. I also heard he kind of wanted to quit because he was too busy with Sonata Arctica and didn't have time for other music stuff. Or something like that. But anyways, both Jani and Tolkki are great guitarists! Matias too.
I wouldn't say his songs are strange, he has a lot of mythology basis (I look up the meaning behind the mysterious terms in the song) and they're usually not very well known myths but after looking it up and listening over and over it clicks better. I think they're very beautiful and deeply emotional songs, something a lot of artists in the US (that's where I am) don't usually do.
Haha I agree with you about that, If the Story Is Over is a great song, they should use that kind of sound more often. (BTW, Matias' last name is Kupiainen, Jani's is Liimatainen)

Re: Cain's Offering II
Haha well I am an American technically. I'm Chinese born in America (and I'm not proud of it, it really sucks here. Terrible music taste). I didn't mean to criticize your grammar and I apologize. I guess the American thing rubs onto me over the years. Besides, you shouldn't see any shame in not learning good english. I've always regretted having English as my first language, the words can be rather stupid at times. Like "two", "to", and "too". I used to get so lost with those words. Sometimes I still do.
You speak German? If so, that's so cool! (Not to criticize again but it's spelled Lauri, not Laury. I used to make that mistake too though whenever I heard his name.) Haha people on the internet can be rather odd. It took me a while to spell the Finnish names and I still can't get lots of them right, mainly Matias' last name. I have to Google it every time.

Re: Cain's Offering II
Haha we are exotic people. To be honest, I kind of like it that way. Feels like I'm a little more unique. Course, everyone is unique in their own (and in some cases, odd) ways but being a "American born Chinese" (as my friends put it) I feel a little more like I'm my own little breed.
Music tastes are pretty much going down the drain in this world. Except for some places like Finland of course, Stratovarius is one of my few "salvaged tastes" of music, as I call it. I wish that more people would notice them though, I personally think they could kick so called "artists" like Justin Beiber clear to the moon.
Ha, there are fans and then there are die hards. The way I see it is that everyone has an opinion, they can like it or not if they choose. Saying that certain people are gods and getting mad that others don't think so is just ridiculous to me. And the whole purpose of singers/bands making music is so we can sing along! I find no shame in singing others songs.

Wow now THAT is cool. I'm subscribed to this one person who uploads Stratovarius demos occasionally when she can get her hands on the file. She uploaded all their stuff they would've done for the Revolution Renaissance album but it got cancelled so it was pretty sweet to find it. Anyways, what's the name of that song you found? I'd like to listen to it and your cover as well. Haha, I'm sure they aren't looking at you with bad eyes. Their eyes just have trouble seeing the music potential in you.

Southern_Cross wrote:Ah that's true.

I get like that sometimes too. I just go all crazy for a few days and then I just stop entirely, it's really weird. I usually record just vocals and if I think the song calls for it, some backing vocals. I specialize in singing so I don't compose the stuff myself. I tried but failed. So I use other people's instrumentals for my stuff.

Re: Cain's Offering II
Haha you know sometimes kicking an asshole isn't a bad thing. Some of them are really mean and what more can I do but kick em? Way I see it, they stay out of my way and I'll stay out of theirs.
Yea internet is full of people joking around but there's always someone who takes it seriously (and offensively) and they make a big song and dance about it and then people get mad at them for not being able to take a joke and then the world ends up with a swirling black hole of chaos.
Well glad to know I'm one of the few who treat you as you should be treated

Nice! Can't wait to hear it >.< Now I'm excited. I found a piano cover instrumental of Southern Cross but I dunno if I should go for it...It IS a difficult song after all.

Re: Cain's Offering II
Well that is true. Well what the heck, I'll go for it. I already did SOS and Eagleheart and I have nothing to lose.
Re: Cain's Offering II
I actually talked to Timo Kotipelto about this some time ago, this is what Timo had to say.

Oh whoa cool. You TALKED to Timo Kotipelto? My god, you lucky duck, I would give for that, I really would. He's a great guy.
Well, I for one am glad to hear he wouldn't mind doing Cain's Offering II. The interview was in April...so a little while back, hopefully he still doesn't mind doing Cain's Offering II.

I heard Nemesis like a month and a half before it came out, legally. I'd say something cheesy like "Not to toot my own horn", but I'm not sure anyone would take that bit seriously. I actually met the whole band on the Polaris tour, and I interviewed Jens too, but my recording of the interview was awful, because the call quality was junk. I couldn't really understand his responses to my questions and I was mostly banking on being able to transcribe from my recording.Southern_Cross wrote:Oh whoa cool. You TALKED to Timo Kotipelto? Also, that interview actually took place in I think January, maybe February, certainly before the album was out. It was just a slow turnaround to get it posted. It was whenever him and Jens were in the states to do that listening party.
I tried to get an interview with Jani, but that didn't come to fruition.

Gaaaah that is really really cool. Haha, "not to toot my own horn". I can get how people wouldn't take that seriously. Gah you met all of them, my god you are a lucky duck. Aww too bad the Jens recording came out like that...
Oh January February ish...well still, hope he hasn't changed his mind
Yea, I can imagine getting an interview with Jani is tough, I've seen only a handful of interviews that is just him. Most of them were with Tony Kakko.
Still, I'm so envious, you met them ALL!! I would really give to meet ALL of them.
