Thoughts?
The last Avantasia, Toby's latest release, was really good and Age of the Joker was a slight improvement over Tinnitus, but I'm going to guess we're getting more of the same as on the last 3 Edguy albums.

Tobi has been saying that the album's the heaviest album that Edguy has had in a long time, so I wouldn't be surprised if it sounded closer to Hellfire Club.

He also responded to some criticism towards that statement on twitter:

"I hope heavy doesn't mean plodding hard rock." Heavy=heavy! I KNOW what I'm doing, been doing it for 22 yrs. Anyone disagree? GET OUT! B-)"

L00L, very mix between judas priest with the old AC/DC this singer!!!!!

and the guitar is Matias kupiainen with more rocky-doky distortion and without Mute palm.

Well, thats Edguy. It is not new from them to release that kind of songs. It is another Lavatory love machine. I really like this album. Amadeus is the only song that I dont understand why they didnt release it as a bonus. For me is their best album since Rocket Ride. I like this one more than Rocket Ride. After the TS disaster (for my taste) and AOTJ being a quite good album,I think they came with the right direction of how an Edguy album should sound.

I like the album. It's enjoyable. They have their own humor, and at times it's funny.

I'm glad they're back. :)

I love the sarcasm of this guys and tobias of course, he is always making fun of the metal guys pose and cliches that makes spinal tap blush compared to the reality.
I have high expectations for this album and so far is great, but as with any other album it take a few spins before gettin all fanboy for this.

by the way I think age of the joker is way better than rocket ride.

Really liked this.

I had the feeling that Tobi wasn't signing as well as some year ago, but tbh Sabre & Torch killed my fears. He sounds amazing.

Creative core of Helloween's late 90s albums, that were fired after The Dark Ride. Drummer Uli Kusch and guitarist Roland Grapow. Both remarkably talented songwriters that wrote the majority of, what many consider to be their greatest album, "The Dark Ride." Wrote two awesome power metal albums with Dio wannabe Jorn Lande, but then Jorn and Uli were fired, and Roland Grapow took sole control. They've had a few singers since, but Roland's very difficult to work with, and his ideas have gone a bit stale. But, when they play their earlier material, it's fantastic.

Bring earplugs, they play a bit louder than most.

Edguy was GREAT. The band was perfect and really fun as usual. The setlist was great too but I missed Mysteria.

Masterplan sounded well...the singer is bad imho and Grapow was just a bit out of place, made some mistakes in the solos too. Jari was good and correct as usual. The drummer was the best imo with difference. Keyboard was...well, almost non existant. This band feels like a band that is running just to earn some money and not feeling very much the music they play. And knowing there is always band members changes...
But thats my opinion while watching the show las night.

Edguy was astonishing! This band have a lot of power and seems that by time they are even more powerful on stage plus they are extremely funny as we all know. Sammet singed really well and the drum solo with that Empire strikes back OST jajaja!
Really funny moments.

The Funny thing is you mentioning Masterplan Drummer was the best on the band and hes not even the official Drummer  The official Drummer is Actually on tour with his other band so they got another person to help

:) yes maybe sounds funny,it depends

But,that was my perception. The best for me was the drummer and the worst the singer. The second best was Jari explaining in finnish that Spain is always hot as a sauna and he explained too, some things you must know before entering a sauna.

EDIT:
And I have to say that Sammet was just a fucking diva once he left the place. He just went away from the fans with his face covered and rushing to a car just to left all the fans wanting a photo or signature behind. I said to me...well maybe that was just because he was maybe very tired tonight...etc, etc...but then he did the same in Bilbao and Barcelona too, not just in Madrid...People is really dissapointed with this behaviour, mainly the ones who are following Edguy since they were that band waiting outside with the fans and taking pictures and having fun with the crowd. I guess they just feel like the fans are not important anymore because they will go to their concerts and will buy their records anyway. Didn't want to say this, but now that I know they did the same in other places too, I feel really dissapointed. Maybe I was right when I said all what I said in Tinnitus Sanctus topic from this forum...
