But seriously, I don't think it will escalate much further. All sides have far too much to lose and very little to gain from any sort of military conflict. The cooler heads will prevail.

The US doesn't want or need to get involved in this one, the EU obviously wants things to be as quiet as possible... really, nobody has anything to gain from it.

However, I do strongly recommend watching Russia Today if at all possible. Their coverage ranges from the bizarre to the downright hilarious.

Yeah, I think this is just a mild skirmish that will resolve very shortly, and in this case the USA simply needs to mind their own business. Be watchful, but keep their noses out of it. The riots are kinda scarey and disturbing but this is an issue that needs to stay between Russia and the Ukraine to work out. There have been screams of World War 3 in some circles, which is very much over reacting at this point. Just let Russia and Ukraine solve their own argument, and let it be.
