Computers do fail. 100% of the time. So long as you do back ups you should be fine, SSD or HDD.

Robo do you find that a graphics card helps with your recording stuff, or not so much?
Not that I know of. I have an nvidia GeForce 780 ti or some shit.
I installed some stuff on my new drive. Doesn’t seem much faster. Fml.
Just windows update is reaming my asshole right now.
I did not backup way too much data because I find joy in starting from scratch with a fresh start. :drop:

Geforce 780 Ti  That must be quite old now.

I remember I used to have a Radeon 9800 (this was around 2003) and I was super proud of it.

Now I have a Radeon 5700, which is a decent card but not high end. Good enough for me. I also prefer older (and cheaper) games!

I got the video card names confused. I have one worse than that. LOL!
Geforce GTX 750 ti

It does play games I want to play. Now...it's probably not going to play uhh... doom eternal or red dead 2. I will have to see what I can upgrade to eventually. New video card? I won't spend too much on it since I'm not that hardcore on an MMO 24/7. I'm feeling like getting back into building computers like when I was in high school.

I had a Radeon 9550 back in 2004, in my Windows XP computer. The card I'm looking to get nowadays is an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER. Thing only goes for $499. Specs are pretty close to the 2080 SUPER yet it's $200 cheaper. I'm still using this crappy HP laptop with an integrated graphics CPU from 2012...

What exactly is better about the RTX 3000 line, doc? From what I can see, they have a lower clock rate than the RTX 2000 line. I must be missing something... :?

It's pretty insane. The 3070 does about as good as the 2080 Ti for less than half the price.

Yes. You were missing that the RTX 3070 has more than double the number of CUDA cores compared to the RTX 2070 SUPER. More cores allows for increased parallel processing, which in turn improves performance. The games I tend to play probably won't take advantage of this technology, since most of them run on DirectX9 or below (unless I'm missing something again). Whatever. I guess if I actually wanted to play modern games at some point, this would be very useful. I could also see this being useful for modern emulators, as well.

RTX 3070 CUDA cores: 5,888
RTX 2070 SUPER CUDA cores: 2,560

Time to compute some tensors!! :red:

Thanks for the graph! :)

a) Kiddos, ssd is better in speed that one HDD, by that when you wanna "Give a second life" to a old machine, dont care if is Sata 1, Sata 2 or Sata 3, one ssd make that all your PC run more faster, example, I give a second chance to a old 2011 Notebook HP - G42 362la with sata 2, core 13 1° generation and DDR3 1333 with an not very expensive SSD ADATA Su 630 - 480 GB and run decent now

B) One Graphic card always will make your PC more Powerful, why? why one Graphic card take all the video JOB and not more your processor!, this mean that is like your pc have 2 processors, one for Video (GPU) and one for precess (CPU), this mean that you can do your pc more faster, example, I have one PC with Intel serie i7 K with an AMD R9 series graphics (Old) and I can edit video, and mix In pro tools a lot tracks in 1080p!, including play games not so old! like Mafia definitive edition!

c) I always recommended use an ssd and one dedicated graphic card and if you use the graphic card with HDMI is more faster! and you can run games more easy - Audio and video Onboard always sucks.

More Info? you can call to motha faka hardware nerd.

I only use VGA and ps2 ports. With serial mice and a dot matrix ass blaster.
