Re: What do you read?
I recently read the "Formula" from Preston & Child. An awesome book! Very cool, extremly good words they used and finally I can't stop reading (I only stop when I wake up in the middle of the night with the lights on and the book in my hands)

Re: What do you read?
I like the fiction ones, like "Trojan Horse" (Caballo de Troya pa los que sepan español), the DaVinci code, and JRR Tolkien. and Want to read the CS Lewis ones.
Also like the history books, but I don'r remember anyone now
And Finished "for whom the bells tolls" (maybe the last word is wrong) by Hemingway. Great book.

Re: What do you read?
I'm only reading for university right now, but I highly recommend anything by Milan Kundera, one of my favourite (ok, maybe the only one I know ). "Laughable Loves", "The Joke" and "Immortality" are very good (although Immortality was the least entertaining of the three).

In the moment I'm reading the classic vampire-novel: Bram Stokers Dracula. They are just beginning their hunt for the count himself...

I am actually reading books 1 to 6 of the "Chronicles of the Immortal" by the German Fantasy author Wolfgang Hohlbein.. it's very interesting (just like the Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice ^^)
I will always be true to myself.

Hmm, formal language sounds like there's not much... substance in it, right?

I got the complete Poe works from a college in the states, poems, stories and some newspaper articles... though I can't find the editorial, but you should buy all of it at once.stratobabius wrote:Can anyone recommend any books from Edgar Alan Poe or H.P. Lovecraft? I'd really appreciate it...

Re: What do you read?
Gee, I am a bookworm, I will read everything that falls into my hands. I just finished Harry Potter's 6th book, I am reading the Chronicles of The Vampires by Anne Rice, which was a very nice xmas gift from a friend and I am reading The Adventures of Tom Sawyer all of these in English (my native language is Portuguese). I have read some books of a brazilian author named Roberto Shinyashiki who is considered self-help and oriented to business themes but it´s very practical to daily life. Besides that, last year I read The Da Vinci Code, Angels and Demons, Zahir, The Princess' Diary serie, and Bridget Jones 1 and 2. And all the University related stuff too...
Re: What do you read?
That's an awesome book u know? I read it like...6 months ago, it made it to my top 5. And I've always thought the the doctor is the most intresting characters of them all.Morgana wrote:SEND IT TO ME!!!!! SEND IT TO ME!!!!! OH PLEASE SEND IT TO ME!!!!!!Heiserich wrote:In the moment I'm reading the classic vampire-novel: Bram Stokers Dracula. They are just beginning their hunt for the count himself...
@TerrinePotter: Does Chronicles of the Vampires by Anne Rice involves a character called Lestat? 'Cuz if so...there's a play here in NYC about that guy. And I feel rather intrested. Tell me about it.
And I hate The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, too much old English. I was reading Huckenberry Finn and I hated it. Thanks God I didn't HAD to read it.
Sorry, but can u tell me ur sex? 'Cuz I have no idea.
...And...I ain't reading anything at the moment. I finished reading "If I Should Die Before I Wake". By Han Nolan. Moving, really moving book...

"Facts about Finland"
The last book I've read was a novel of Norwegian writer Erlend Loe "Fakta om Finland" (in Russian edition it was called "The best country in the world"). Actually, Finland is not the main object of
narration, but it also contains a lot of information (frequently stereotyped) about this country.
It is interesting to know what Finns think about this book?

Right now I'm reading 1984 By George Orwell. Fascinating. I love this concept of "negative utopia".
Highly recomended.

Very nice indeed. As for myself, I'm reading for the fourteenth time La Nuit des Temps by René Barjavel. Best SF novel ever.

I've read some Terry Pratchett's books lately and I'd say they are marvelous. Unfortunately our library doesn't have more of his books.

Re: What do you read?
Terry Pratchett's books, Draconlances,David & Leight Edding's books like Althalus(that was the greatest book) and Tolkiens books. Now I'm reading the unofficial epilogue of Metallica. It's my new bible or something(allthough I think that the Bible was quite boring...)
