With the forthcoming release of the mini album "The Dark Secret" in May 24th, the Italian epic metal band RHAPSODY provides a taste of their long play album that is due in September of this year.

A new saga has been born, one that takes the listener on a musical adventure featuring epic, fast metal tracks and sonic landscapes with stirring narrative.
It is the debut of a new style of Heavy Metal music created by RHAPSODY known as Film Score Metal.

The massive production was done in several studios throughout Europe; from England to Italy, from the Czech Republic and Belgium to Germany.

Supported by appearances by more than a dozen international guest soloists and the entire Bohuslav Martinu Philharmonic Orchestra from the Czech Republic, a 50 piece choir as well as Christopher Lee - the grand seigneur of film and one of the most filmed actors in history, the "Dark Secret" as well as the yet untitled album will set the world of Symphonic Metal on fire.

Mr. Christopher Lee is no stranger to music and recording studios as he is a classically trained opera singer himself.
Among other well known narrators and London actors, Lee will guide the listeners in the role of a king through the unique saga invented by RHAPSODY’S founding members Luca Turilli and Alex Staropoli who are the producers of this album.

"It is a dream come true. We couldn't believe it when our management informed us that our hero Mr. Lee agreed to be part of our new CD. We are extremely thankful and honoured that this outstanding legend of film and theatre has chosen to work with us", says Luca Turilli. "Mr.Lee indeed brought reality to our vision and dreams, "says Alex Staropoli. "It was pure magic and his narrations is just magnificent and truly majestic."

Following a 2-year absence from the studio, finally the time has come for a new journey, a new adventure, and a new album from RHAPSODY that will shake the metal universe.

The new mini album "The Dark Secret" will set the stage for a new era of Heavy Metal Music and the limited edition includes a DVD that will contain exclusive interviews, and behind the scenes material.

"The Dark Secret":
01 Unholy Warcry (short version)*
02 Thunder's Mighty Roar*
03 Guardians Of Destiny (English version)*
04 Sacred Power Of Raging Winds
05 (Track tbc)*

* Tracks will not be included in the forthcoming album

Limited edition bonus DVD:
- "Making of" the new album (incl. Interview segments with e.g. C.Lee)
- 5.1 Surround Sound Mix of "Unholy Warcry" (short version)
(Ca. 15 min)

Just because you don´t like the titles they have to be stupid? And why to call the past narrator an "idiot"? do you know him?
Why don´t you just respect other people´s work?
It is very easy to be vain, to talk endlessly without objective points; sorry man, but i can´t find any respect in your comments, and far away from being funny they seem to be ofenssive.

The previous narrator sounded quite good IMO

And about the titles... c'mon, they ARE Rhapsody, so what are you bitching about?
I bet if you hate Rhapsody, you won't start liking them with that release, but all fans will be happy with it :)

Yeah, if you're ashamed of the songtitles, just you're listening to song no3 for an example =P :eyes

But I'm so pissed off. They delay the release date and they are releasing a damn EP just to make twice the money they would have make. Rhapsody is one of my all-time favorite bands, but since a year or two... I don't approve at all their marketing plan. If they don't come over in this tour, I'll go to Italy to kick their asses.

Anyway, if it is similar to Rain Of A Thousand flames it is worth its money...

SOEL and DOV are masterpieces, but they turned boring with POTDF, imo =\\
Anyway, I ever liked his music and I'll check it.

I just dont like shortened versions. Seems to be that bands start doing this more often, like Edguy with the King Of Fools EP and so on.
You are pretty wrong here. What Edguy did with King Of Fools track is the most typical thing you do with singles. A song you use for promotion. They are in 90% shortened version of the songs suppose to apear on full album. For one simple reason: it's more accesible for a wider audience and can fit for a video and be played on radio. This has been in common for as long as modern music buissines goes on. Edguy wasn't a good example here.
I didn't really notice bands doing this more often now (maybe because I don't pay much attention to singles), but I can see your point, for example, with Luca Turilli, filling out an EP with shortened versions of his older songs. Or Sonata Arctica with pointless 4 min version of Fullmoon on Successor EP.

Hm.. that sentence was crap, i wanted to say that more bands seem to release EPs ;)

But you are right...
I know that most shorter versions are for TV and so on, but they should release the normal version also on the EP. Most terrible short version of the last time: "I walk to my own song" without Solo on TV :buh:

Yep, I always prefer them to concentrate more on full album than EP.

Sacred power of raging winds. That sounds like an extended version of Holy thunderforce.

Agreed! The solo of IWTMOS is one of the best Stratvarius solos ever. :err: Helloween's edit version of Just A Little Sign is also really bad.

It was about time they showed a sign of life... I was starting to think their new album was a rumor...

Looks like their style is still the same after all, but we could use a little change, IMO.

:buh: I don't really see what all the fuss is about. Just because the album contains songs with "stupid" titles, doesn't mean the songs will be stupid as well!

I'm sure Luca Turilli knows what he's doing and that I can look forward to another great album!

If you think their titles are funny, check out their videos! Rain of a Thousand Flames is super corny. Rhapsody may have a good sound, but their songs and videos are viewed as humorous to some.

So far I've seen Holy Thunderforce, Rain Of A thousand Flames and Power Of The Dragonflame and although they look funny, I like them.

And honestly, I don't give a damn if their videos are funny, corny or downright stupid, as long as their music stays great, I'm not complaining!

Pay attention to this: there are a lot of fakes on the net... be aware not to download it! :err:

Does anybody know who are the real musicians on the fake version...?
Anyway, it's not so bad IMO, even better that Rhapsody themselves! :D
