THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST Movie

I bought a copy on DVD today&watched it twice.

I have always liked movies depicting the life of Christ and this one I felt came closest to how a real cruxifiction was. The goriness&violence made the movie true to life, and disturbing.

According to Scripture, Jesus loved us so much he endured this agony so he could save us.
The most touching part was when Jesus died and a large raindrop(God's tear)fell from Heaven.
The weirdest part was when one of the theives on the cross beside Jesus denied&laughed at Jesus. Then mysteriously out of the blue, A raven flew down& tried to peck out his eyes for blaspheming Christ!

While the movie ws close to Biblical account of Jesus' put to Death, his parting words to his friends/disciples& Ascension into Heaven was left out--I was disappointed that this Ascension was omitted because its always a very touching moment in every movie depicting Jesus' Death&Resurrection.

The characters were played by foreign Actors&I would have liked if more familiar Stars had portrayed them. However, the emotional expression of their parts was outstanding--the actors all did a fine job, IMO!

I would give this movie 4 out of 5 Stars.
Did you see this movie? What do you think about it?

Well, I saw the movie months ago in the cinema, even more shocking to see it on the big screen, but I´m expecting to rent the video these days!!!.
I loved it, I know is extremely sad and painful but loved it (I´m a christian) and what I saw on it was anything new, or anything I´ve never imagine about Christ´s last hours of life.
Liked the actors, and specially the language, because it´s more real and it´s something different. The music, the effects, well. Good movie, very close of what the passion of the Christ was, yeap. :bounce2:

I saw it months ago and It was awesome...
I loved the language....
Satan was very .... something.. I think they created a very "special" satan.... I know th Bible didn't say about Judas seeing demonds and stuff, but I think it is possible... it was scary .. I don'tknow, I just think that they did a great job in this movie... and for the first time I saw the holes in Jesus's Hands.. I'm sorry, but my mind was kind of closed because I always saw the wounded hands but no holes even when I knew about the nails...
well, To me was pretty amazing...
and it makes me think about the real thing ...

It was gory, but, Sorry-things like that go on in the History of the World. Humans can be exceedingly cruel/rotten, with their deeds/actions&with their caustic words(after all, look at the childish/stupid flame/bully wars of Internet). People lOVE to pick on other people for no reason than that they can--sick people get a boost from it.
Life IS NOT a fairytale--it was not meant to be. People who do not realize this fact usually wind up in Mental Wards.
Or, Suicide statistic
Give a Person POWER--that is a TRUE test of Character! Give someone the chance to walk all over CERTAIN people, if they desire&see what happens! ;)

I took the DVD over to my parents&after we ate lunch together we watched the movie.
My parents were not that impressed! They both said they saw better reenactments of the cruxifiction fom TV Movies. Sure, they said, it was gorier&more realistic, but, Still the movie was not played very well.In their Opinion.

I agreed with them on one point--better&more known actors could have been used.

... or become Michael Jackson...

It's hard to say what's worse, though...

By the way, I saw the film too, and I thought it was fantastic, although the flagellation of Jesus by Roman soldiers was too gory. I liked the fact that they only used the original languages from the period, though: Just Latin and Aramaic, if I remember correctly. I also liked the portrayal of Satan, very original and effective. Check out this website for some excellent pictures from the film and viewers' comments:

My son saw it at the theatre and he said it gave a person something to think about. I think he read the Bible some after he saw it. He was baptized a few years ago&went to church regularly for awhile.
As to the movie, he agreed it was pitifully gory, but the creators had to do it that way to be convincing&get the message across.
He&his friends watched the DVD while my parents&I were fixing the food. His girl said she did not know if she could eat after seeing all that bloodshed.

I searched, and, indeed, after Jesus was cruxcified there was an uprising&Pilate took the blame of the cruxcifiction, and rebellion afterwards. Pilate was exiled&commited suicide.
So, his wife's observation eeriely, came to pass! Pilate, was believed in some circles to have became a Christian-hence, his guilt over Jesus' cruxcifiction was one factor in taking of his own life. Pilate was even canonized(made a saint)by some groups because of his change of character before his death.

There are about 3 differing points of view about Pilate--I gave the few shared by all.
