I went to these guys' gig last night at the Hardclub near Lisbon.. I only knew a couple of songs from their first and only album so far, so I was mostly going there to hang around..
I must say the gig was awesome. The first part by Visions of Atlantis was only a slight idea of what was coming next. Epica entered the stage, and had a stunning performance. Vocalist Simone's performance was just stunning, and so were guitarist Mark Jansen's (ex-After Forever) growls and guitar playing, and so were the rest of the bandmembers.
I must admit I was never much into Epic Gothic Metal, but Epica sure showed me how much I was missing. Check them out, they're really great. :headbang:
Their new album is coming out on March, and they played a few songs from it too. It looks promising
