Yet another spamtastic topic that is contributed to bordem:
In today's topic, just respond with what is interesting about where you live?
Here in Omaha, Nebraska, USA (technically, I'm writing this from Seward, Nebraska [an hour drive from Omaha

 ], but I do go back there on weekends)...we have corn....and...more corn...and...well...CORN!

No, wait, we have an arcade center that's the best in the Midwest (Family Fun Center)

, we have a college hockey team (which is DECENT this year

), and we have one of the best market places (called The Old Market).
Although, I read we may be getting a hockey farm team here that is connected to the Calgary Flames (THAT BE SWEET!!!

 )

I am from North Alabama--I live in a small rural town that I shall leave un-named for reasons of my own.

But, I will say the biggest city nearby(if you can say a 2-hour drive is nearby!) is the famous Rocketcity--Huntsville, Alabama-where the genius German scientist Werner VonBraun made his home. Also, SpaceCamp, known worldwide is there! Also, a large military base.
Actually, the area that I live is mostly redneck conservative with the characteristic hypocrite&narrowminded attitudes that florish in an area like this. I am a deviation from this--a liberal democrat&ex-hippie. For a time my EX had me brainwashed beleiving all those paranoid type things the Patriot Movement followed, but I saw the light and saw how goofy his way of thinking was.
Actually my area is half church-oriented&other half "sinners"LOL-with the characteristic lifestyles, thereof......
We have to travel long distances to go to a Club, so usually a group just gathers at a motel, or someone's house&parties happen.
The local High School sports scene is where the more affluent Rednecks gather&most students, even poorer ones, gather at the closest Mall 20 miles away. We have 3 skating rinks in a 20-mile radius, too, & 1 bowling alley. The more affluent also have Horse shows, rodeos, and car races. There is also a country club&several golf courses.
The Tennessee River cuts through my county&there are many lakeside parks&recreation centers, but these are just open for th Summer.
So, now you see why I am on the Internet so much! :rotflmao2: On weekends I always have fun, but during the week, my area is "DeadCity"!

My son always has a full plate, too on weekends---he never gets bored, but he is a young, nice-looking male, and that to be expected!:D

Remember that big fiasco with the 2000 presidential election?
Remember how there was that one county in florida that held up the election because they supposedly couldn't read the ballots correctly?
I live there.
Oh, and to give you an idea of what it's like (i find this to be extremely interesting), the neighborhood behind mine has its own brand of bottled water.

There is nothing too special about Helsingfors. Timo Tolkki moved here apparently, first snow fell today, we have eternal "ground under repair" signs all over and Helsingfors is the capital of Finland.

Where I live is a small town situated in the top south of Spain, just in the Gibraltar´s straight, it´s a good place to live, although sometimes is too quiet for me, Málaga ( the capital of the province, 600.000 inhab.) is 90 kms far, but the place is quite nice, as is close to the Mediterranean Sea and on the bottom of the mountains, so we have sea and mountains in 20 kms. Despite all the problems we have, I feel comfortable here, safety and with a good life in general. If you want the name, I don´t mind: Estepona, Costal del Sol, Málaga, Spain. OLé!!

San Jose... very diverse cultrualy... oen of the few places left with a Japan Town mostly odd cartoon stores but they've also got some most excellent restaurants. Bay Area wise (what we are usually called grouped together with San Fransico, Oakland, ect) lets see, Megadeth is bay area band so thats cool... Most agressive/dangerous fans of American football live here (oakland raiders) Santa Cruz isn't too far away and one of the nicest places in California. thats about it I guess, people think the bay area is exicting, but its actualy sorta dull.

				Hi !
I live in Wachenheim, it`s a village in Germany, in the south-west. It`s boring, but quite beautiful. All we got here is wine. There`s a store in my village people from other countries come to to buy their wine. It`s quite popular, I think. But I don`t like wine, I`m more a beer lover. And that`s hard, here in the "Pfalz". All these folks here drimk wine.

Hate that stuff.

Your city was the subject of a very popular 70s song by Dionne Warwick--"Do you Know the Way to San Jose?"

Right now I live in Tornio, a small town located on the border of Finland and Sweden. Centre of the town is on an island in the Tornio river (which is the natural border up north from here). Nice view on the bridges and stuff like that naturally. Dark and cold, northern lights and shit like that every now and then, depressed people. Wouldn't live here for the rest of my life but for now it's cool.

here it is. But now I live in Brest for the studies, which is far more in the north, see

Well, the only thing I have is the entryway of Family Fun Center in Omaha:
http://www.familyfuncenter.net/Family_F ... tryway.htm (it's a virtual tour kind of).
So far I don't have any pics of Omaha, except
http://travel.yahoo.com/p-travelguide-1 ... acations-i, which is sort of a bad example to get pics of Omaha, but is a good start.

Heres a picture of downtown. I'll see about getting a picture or two from my neighbourhood, foot hills all around us are green for about 2 weeks so they looks really nice right now
