I voted for Tony Martin (please don´t kill me!)
Ozzy was a great live performer, but i don´t like his voice in there that much (actually, it was kind of annoying) and Dio is better solo. Ian Gillan did a nice job on Born Again, but let´s leave him with Deep Purple...and about Glenn Hughes, well, i was never into blues. So i picked Tony Martin, after listening to Headless Cross and Tyr. Sorry folks, i just believe it would be better have Ozzy and Dio on solo.



P.S.: I didn´t put Dave Walker, Dave Donato, Jeff Fenholt nor Ray Gillen because:

*Dave Walker never recorded, but an alternate version of Junior's Eyes exists with him.
*Dave Donato was officially a member, but never recorded or played live.
*Jeff Fenholt's position in the band is in dispute. The Fenholt camp says they have pictures of him with the band and that Fenholt's uncredited for songwriting on Seventh Star. The Sabbath camp says he only "tried out" for the part
*Ray Gillen replaced Glenn Hughes about 10 dates into the Seventh Star tour, then recorded The Eternal Idol, and left before it was released. The only surviving part of Ray's voice on the released Eternal Idol album is some laughing on the track "Nightmare".

On the other hand, i putted Rob Halford, even thou he only sang in a couple of shows because he rocks!

Ozzy all the way. Sabbath just went down after he left... imo

Ozzy's the man. About his voice, you either love it or hate it And I agree that Dio's better solo.

I have to agree. Black Sabbath = Ozzy. There's no denying that.

Dio, Hughes, Gillan, Martin. In that order. Ozzy doesn't even register.

Ozzy is the voice of Sabbath, but Dio sang Heaven and Hell, and forced Iommi to play more clear and to open his playing to more accesible sounds.
And particularly, although Ozzy is a great composer, Dio is much better singer... does someone has any hesitate about it?

I voted Dio, just before I noticed my favourite vocalist Rob Halford is in that list too. Didn't know he has singed in Black Sabbath.

C´mon guys, what about Tony Martin?! You´re not giving him the chance....he´s Black Sabbath´s Blaze....

Tony Martin's great, but compared to Dio or Hughes? Not even close.

I love the first BS albums, the newer stuff, starting with heaven and hell, was not bad, just kinda ordinary, imo...

Yeah, nothing beats swinging a cat around your head by its tail to beat the "Ordinary Metal" blues......

And what about Mob Rules? His voice totally rocks there. Ozzy's more like the "trademark" voice of Black Sabbath but doesn't even come close to Dio.

For me Glenn Hughes was the best BS vocalist,Seventh star is an excellent album,it,s a shame Glenn accepted the job for the wrong reasons(money).

phew. thought i was gonna get plagued with hate mail? no. hate posts... whatever.

Ozzy is just... bah, off putting. Some of the songs themelves are ok, but there's something about him i can't stand.

Agreed. It was in extremely bad taste to move to television.

Especially in the manner of exploiting one's family.
