What About STRATOVARIUS Making a X-Mas Album?

IMO, a good idea----even, if I did think of it!

Suggestions:
1.Greensleeves
2.What Child Is This?
3.The First Noel
4.Little Drummer Boy
5.Hark, the Hearld Angels Sing!
6.Away in a Manger
7.Silent Night, Holy Night
8.Jingle Bells
9.I saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus
10.Santa Clause is Coming to Town(Hey, it worked for Michael Jackson!)
11.On the First Day Of X-Mas
12.'Twas the Night Before X-Mas(All the Guys Speak parts)
13.I'm Dreaming of a White X-Mas(Bing--Move Over!)
What do you people think about this idea?
I think it should be discussed!

I'd make the question "What About STRATOVARIUS Making ANY NEW Album?"
Seriously, I think it could be an interesting idea. Savatage guys made it on the TransSiberian Orchestra project, and I really love their albums!

This is actually a good idea. But I don't think I'd appreciate Strato covering "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus." More serious stuff would be better for them.

Thats where I got the idea, actually!

Also, there is an album compilation called"Heavy Metal Christmas" which I saw listed in a catalog a couple years ago. I think Stratovarius was listed

in the band names, but it did not state the songs each band played.
I would definitely buy a StratoChristmas Album in a heartbeat!

Yep, that was kinda silly---Koti singing a child's song!

Winter Wonderland would be a fine addition!
Maybe a song from Finland would be good to add---done in Finnish!

Silent Night, Bodom Night...
"On the first day of Christmas, Stratovarius gave to me a Fright Night CD... etc"
or
"On the first day of Christmas, we got drunken.
On the second day of Christmas, we got even more drunken... etc"

Hey! This topic IS Serious!
OK

"Jingle Balls, Jingle Balls, Jingle all the way,
Oh, what fun it is to ***********"
And if you think I'm gonna finish that in a public forum, you are nuts(no pun intended)!

To my knowledge, there is a particular traditional Finnish Christmas...march...or something. It's really fuzzy on the periphery of my mind, but i seem to remember having stumbled upon it years ago and including it on a yearly Christmas compilation CD i give to people....i don't really remember. Don't listen to me. I'm insane.

No, you are NOT insane.

Thats what I am referring to. Since I think Santa is so respected in Finland, I expect that there are special carols created by the Finnish for the XMas holidays.

What a stupid idea!

The ONLY rock band who has ever done such a thing - and got it right was SLADE.

Who cares what YOU think---I did not think YOU were into the REAL Christ-mas anyway.
Other songs which could work are:
"God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen"
"It Came Upon A Midnight Clear"
"Here Comes Santa Clause"

I tend to agree with Diego. Not an entire Christmas album. It doesn't seem totally appropriate for them. In smaller quantities, perhaps. Like, a christmas song. Or maybe not even that. Maybe a Christmas chord. Or maybe they could just incorporate a somewhat Christmassy modulation into one of their other songs. Or maybe Jorg could approach the mic and say "Christmas" once or twice.

I'd probably cry too... but then, I actually AM gay. So there ya go...HAHA

Nope, but I think it may be turning into one,heh
Er, anyway... back to the topic...If they did do an xmas album, maybe they could do something like Finnish Christmas or winter-folky sorts of things instead of "jingle bell rock."?? Someone has probably already mentioned this, but I'm too delirious to go and check
PS Did you hear Tim Gaines left Stryper? Sorry... Jesus, what's with me and Stryper? I'm convinced that I wouldn't like them as much if I actually WERE Christian
