The Hobitt is a much shorter novel whose story happens BEFORE the LOTR, where you see Bilbo on a journey with thirteen dwarves (includinc Gloin, Gimli's father) and Gandalf. Therefore, it's just logic that the movie is released AFTER the LOTR. Anyway the LOTR-movie was just crap si The Hobbit one is just the same I think...

huh it would be logic if it was released BEFORE lotr...

^Indeed, but this is how Hollywood works nowadays.
Oh, and the LOTR movies were definillye NOT crap IMO, I don't know why on earth people thnink it is. I loved every part of it, with ROTK being the best one.
If they would make
The Hobbit into a movie, I would definitely go see it!

Well, The Silmarillion was released about 20 years after Lord of the Rings. Turning The Hobbit into movie sounds interesting. I'll 100 % surely go to watch it.

That's what I meant eh... So this movie does not respect Tolkien's works since it's release date. So I'm definitely NOT gonna see it.

So where can we se the trailer?
I definetly want to see it. If it's half as good as LOTR, it'll be worth it! LOTR was the best thing. I've got every extended edition on DVD and planning soon a marathon :banana1:

That makes two of us, Spidey. I recently got the ROTK Extended Edition to complete my collection of the LOTR trilogy. When I've watched it, I can plan on watching all Extended Editions in one day.
And I'd like to see the trailer as well, I expect good things to come from this movie.

I got the "The Lord of the Rings special extended movie trilogy", or something like that, which includes all three special editions and they rock, if possible, even more than the original ones. I remember after buying that box I spend about 90-97 % of my awake-time 4 days in row (and I don't even have to exaggerate, becuase I actually did. During a vacation of course.

) just watching those movies and especially the 6 bonus DVDs. I was a bit out of reality for a while after that.

I'd like to have a LotR marathon one day too, but I don't really have time for that right now.

Here's the trailer:

You can see that they have to start working on it.

I'll be suprised if they even get this movie into production. Apparently, from what I read in that New York Times article concearning the Hobbit, there are many obstacles that need to be confronted and passed:
1. Getting Peter Jackson into starting production (not a problem, as long as you can wait)
2. New Line has to negotiate with United Arts/MGM for production rights to the film in order to show it in theaters
3. Finding a way for the Tolkien estate to allow them to produce the movie
If they can get through these hurdles, I'm pretty sure this movie will be out soon, and might be the best out of the whole series.

That looks like someone just took parts from Lord Of The Rings and added a dragon and some cuts from another movie there...

Congratulations, you win the first prize!
Yes, this is not the actual trailer. This is a fake trailer, done by Steve Latham, a 26-year-old senior at the University of Oklahoma majoring in film and video studies. He is a big fan of the LOTR series, and decided to pull all of this together to make a fake trailer.

Would be cool if this movie gets green light, if the real trailer would be as interesting as this one (even if it is mostly LOTR scenes pasted together), I'd expect a lot from this movie.
