trolls

There is an influx of new people here. So beware a bit of trolls..

LustGirl was not the same as any other poster here. I banned that used ID + the IP, at the request of someone in the band. (IP blocking is still not as good as it was with my old Tforum traps. It's near useless in fact. One of these days...)

But seriouly, people!? :) I'll have to assume it was trolling. If someone posts stuff just to get a reaction, it's better to try to not react.

[ And if it was a she and she was not kidding, come on down to a gig and say hello to our esteemed crew full of young, cute and extremely single guys! Happy roadies make happy band  ]
Jens.

Hey, Jens. Is there a way that you can block the MAC address of the person's computer? It may be a while when forum peoples decide to register member's IP and MAC address. I know that Concordia University, Nebraska, does it when you register your computer to use the Internet. You should try to implement that.
Somehow I still have an account...yay...?

There isn't a way. I assume the people at your university had control of a network interface which was only a hop away from you. The MAC address you see in any frame will only be the one of the interface you're directly connected to.....

( Of course I could politely ask everyone who makes a post here read their MAC address from off the box their NIC came in, and type it in ? )

Moreover -- most interfaces nowadays let you change the MAC address. Next idea. PGP anyone?? ?? ??

By the way, I didn't intend for this thread to turn into a flame war.
