Well, i hadn't been able to articulate it quite like that, but i totally agree with you.

I suppose this is a good time to bring up my theory that Jani Liimatainen is a robot. Because he is. I refuse to admit him into my metal pantheon because i believe he's not human. The guy is incredible. And yet...he doesn't do solos. Why? He can't. He's a robot, built for perfection, but yet without the human capability of improvisation.

I'm sorry, let me clarify. What i meant to convey is that his solos aren't improvised solos. Nor are they exceptionally diverse. Basically they just follow the pattern of A B A' B' A'' B''. Or the occasional A A' A'' A'''.

But they're fucking FAST. Which is incredible. But not so incredible that it's beyond the scope of modern machinery.

Jani Liimatainen is pretty great on guitar, he wrote a pretty cool thingy for the first Young Guitar dvd he was on with Gus G. IIIII think he's really cute but I don't like his weird, greasy, gross colored hair. I liked it better as just red. I've heard he's a nice guy...... Lies! Lies all of it!!! If he wasn't engaged I would fuck him.
