Sonata Arctica - live performance

I just came from Sonata Arctica's concert... Daaammn!! Although North American audiences (or at least Canadian audiences) are not very loud and enthusiastic, the band's performance was great. I was especially amazed by Tommy Portimo; he can really play drums!!! The double bass drums were incredible! There were some problems with the guitar sound, but Jani was still excellent, as well as Henrik. Henrik's solos actually sounded much louder than Jani's solos, which didn't bother me because I love keyboards. Also, there were some problems with the mic at the beginning, so Tony was unable to sing the first song
With all the technology available, I don't know why there are so many sound problems in these concerts... Yeah ok, I'm an ignorant and I don't know how these things work, but still... come on!!!
The guy who tried the mic KNEW that there was no sound coming out of it, but still they sent Tony to the stage, and so we missed his vocals on "Misplaced".
Anyways, I'm writing this topic because I LOVED Sonata's performance, and you can really tell they are having fun on stage when they play, except maybe for Marko, who always looks sad

Well, I have a space shuttle for these occasions, so I had to cross the fourth dimension and make a left turn to get to the concert. I also use the space shuttle when I have to go to the supermarket because grapes and apples are very expensive in outer space.

@neonlightchild: the ones I remember (not in order) are misplaced, blinded no more, don't say a word, shamandalie, black sheep, sing in silence, my land, 8th commandment, replica, kingdom for a heart, full moon, victoria's secret, broken and the cage (the cage was the last one; great drums on this one!). I think I'm forgetting one, but I don't remember which one it was.

What I really liked is that they didn't play 90% of songs from the last album like most bands do on tours; they played many songs from every album (too bad they only played two from Silence).

I just saw them last night and it was fucking amazing! then had a nice warm beer with Kakko in his bus... ew, warm beer Anyway.... it was a great show. I was surprised that Toronto was so fucking enthused about it. And they sang along! YA! And... it was better than Nightwish, I have to say..

Yup! Fun times. Can't wait to see them again!

I didn't think the audience was very enthusiastic about it... Maybe that's because I'm comparing it to Argentinean audiences... I went to concerts there and the atmosphere was insane! But then again Canadians have a reputation for being relaxed Most people (although not everyone) were standing still, which is weird for me, but the concert was still great

wow! ok so maybe the audience was just shitty in comparison to how they were in Montreal. for a Toronto show, and a power metal show, it was damned good. i mean, people knew the fucking words!

i saw someone in a long-sleeved elements 1 shirt... were you standing on the mid level, to the right side at some point??

Clare, don't get me wrong, I think the concert was great! And it's true, they knew the lyrics. I'm just saying a little more "movement" or something like that would have been nice. But yeah, people really knew Sonata; they were not there just for the sake of it

And yes, I was standing on the mid level, to the right... I was actually there during the whole concert, so you saw me!

And I'm pretty sure I saw you (maybe next to the bar?)... but I wasn't sure at that moment because I didn't really know your face... I had to check one of the pics you posted on this forum after the concert
