Ok, first off, I realize that maybe some of you are PS2 fans...but since the PS3 isn't gonna come out for a while, I DON'T GIVE A CRAP AT THIS POINT.

Now, as I was saying, the new Xbox (code-named Xenon) will be shown later this month. Here are some pics of what it will look like...

And where is the option "I don't give a damn about videogames in the first place" ?

I vote for Mafiaboy's option. Every game looks better than five years ago, but the game companies seem to be out of fresh ideas.

Hey, at least ESPN NHL 2K5 is better on the Xbox than on the PS2!

Xenon? doh...
I hope that it will be another FLOP like the X-Box...(here in Europe it's defiently a flop compared to the PS2 and to the GameCube)
Bill has a so great sense of humour, to force people to buy other hardware to be able to read dvd on a x-box...Never forget that...

Anyway, i'm so missing the era of the PSone...1996, 1997...the first games in 3d...new horizons for programmers..
A lot of new games, X-men vs Streetfighter, Tekken 3, CASTLEVANIA Symphony of the Night, Medievil...and a lot of other pearls.

Now all is improved, PS2, GameCube, X-Box, Xenon, GameSuperCube, PS3...but the fashion of those magic days is lost.

Agree, but I miss the Super Nintendo times more than 2D and 3D, I don't understand these kind of games, My brain doesn't work that fast. I miss the Mario games and Castlevania as well Khamael......

Let me tell you sir, you have reason on one part (Castlevania symphony of the night and alucard both ruled every gamers world, but you are completely wrong, those days are not gone, in fact, this generation of game is pretty good, a lot of games for everyone, excellent games, games that are considered art, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater and Metal Gear Solid Twin Snakes? those are of the few game that has made me cry, what about Resident Evil 4?, Tales of Symphonia, Ninja Gaiden (the only reason to own an XBOX), Devil May Cry 3: dante's awakening (best action game ever, yes its better than ninja gaiden), metroid prime, echoes and the next ZELDA.

This generation of games rocks, maybe N64/PSX era impacted you more, cuz it was the first wave of 3d games and a lot good franchises were born on that generation, but a lot of franchises have born and have evolutioned on this generation of games, but in this generation we are living the true potential of that art called videogame :D

Super Nintendo's games are BIDIMENSIONAL (2D) :D (well a few exceptions here and there, but if SNES has 5000 games, only 50 of them are 3D, and a very early stage for 3d games).

Well i was born and raised playing videogames :D, and i think that as long as games like Zelda, Metal Gear, Final Fantasy, Ninja Gaiden, Devil May Cry, Perfect Dark, Metroid, Resident Evil, Castlevania, MegaMan, etc... exist i will be playing videogames forever, it will always be my passtime, i just don't find anything that gives me an emotion as Metal Gear Solid and Zelda games does, i recommend those games to anyone, those games have an history that deserves all the awards that they have recieved.

I second that.

It makes a hell of noise, the sprites are huge, most of those games are not extremetely entertaining and funny. The Playstation II, is a much better one in my opinion.

And Khamael, the Gamecube actually hadn't been a huge success, if you compare it to the Xbox and Playstation 2. But it has so many great and original games like Zelda The Wind Waker or Metroid Prime.
And the games made by Nintendo are really entertaining, like Super Mario Kart Double Dash. Some people think that the NGC is a console for children because of the Nintendo game style, but I think it's just a good thing, especially if you want to offer a console and games to your kids.
Personally I just love the Gamecube!

But it's true that with all those 3D things, tons of lights on the screen and little movie sequences, there is not a big interactivity, if you compare to those 8 bits or 16 bits consoles. The Playstation 2 is known for being an amazing console (and I agree), but still it will never be as good as the Super Nintendo! 8)

No i'm not wrong...it's just my opinion! Not an axiom.
I really enjoyed Devil May Cry series, Medal of Honour, Gta series (San Andreas is wonderfully BIG)...but...
For me those "glory" days are ended because, yes actual games are WONDERFUL and obviously superior in every aspects, but i cant feel the same feelings i had playing to SupermarioKart or MegaMan X for SuperNintendo...or Sonic for Sega MasterSystem. It's not only a question of technics, graphics, processors and memory...it's a question of "times"...situations, like my father when he speak about pinballs and pools...
So nothing right nothing wrong...just different opinions and generations of gamers.

@Axiom...yeah i miss the SN too...mine is still working...

khamel has a point: it is his opinion, and there should be no reason to force his state of mind to change it. The time of new technology has passed, I don't know why we need new systems evey 5 years. In fact, I think this is pointless to have a Xbox 2/PS3/Gamecube 2. I'm just glad that my NES and SNES are still working. Those were the days, and I'm glad I still have them to relive those days.

@ StratoLink: You're mainly talking about sequels to old/recent games, which at this time is getting REALLY CLICHÉIC. I'm sorry, but have ten thousand sequels from the same games isn't really that great. Gaming companies aren't really thinking that originally as far as new games or series of games.

Btw, apparently, they're making three types of Xboxs: one for PC-related stuff, one for something I don't know yet, and the other for both.

XD XD XD agree! I am getting tired of Mario, too many Mario games around, the same goes for Metroid and RE.

Yes! I am crazy. :D

THe main problem with modern video games is that since its gone so mainstream from the days of mario, pop-culture has fused into the gaming market, and the result has been many mediocre games.

I'm so tired of hearing gaming adveritsements like:
(I make this up).

Kyanusha: Realm of the Ninja

Experience realistic lighting effects and shocking environmental details in this next generation role playing fantasy game. Blah blah blah. The future is up to you. Blah blah blah. Thirty spells, summon demons, snort.

I mean I just don't CARE about it. The mystery and the magic is gone!
Its just another dim-lighted game with a lame plotline and all in all another Japanese cliche!

How I miss the days when Yoshi, Mario, and M.U.L.E. were the games to play.

Its really kinda funny - some things start being really cool, then when they go mainstream, they corrupt their original appeal.
