Best strato's cover

Post by Stratofanius » Fri Jun 03, 2005 5:04 pm

My vote goes to Bloodstone. Even the instruments aren't so cool, Koti's singing is so masterpiece that I love that song.
Blackout and I Surrender are nice too. Kill the King is good, but not very interesting to me.

I don't know is there any other covers - if is, tell us...

"Kill the King" wins easily. It's the only song Strato has ever recorded with real balls in the vocals! ;) "I Surrender" is nice because I was on that gig so it kinda brings back some nice memories and it works well but oh... Kill the King!!!11

TT did a great job on "Kill the King". IMO, his voice improved from the early albums.
TT needs his own band like Kotipelto to sing in--as a frontman. He has still "got it"! :)

I chose CottonCandy as my nick 'cause I'm sweet, soft, and pink!

It was released on Father Time single, so not so long after Koti take the vocals. But I agree, he sings great especially on HTL.

I just dont like the song, 'Bloodstone'. so that rules it out.

I liked Blackout though. Timo's solo is waaay better than the original :D

It was a tough choice between I surrender and Kill the King, but the King won. :)

Blackout: My favourite. They have made it a Stratovarius-song but still kept the feeling of the original.

Kill The King: You really should be Ritchie Blackmore to play the lead guitars of this well. I don't like Tolkki's singing either. The original is one of my favourite Rainbow songs though.

I Surrender: Great, but I still prefer Blackout.

Bloodstone: Good, but no one can ever sing as well as the Metal God himself, Rob Halford. 8)

But vocals are too quietly, instruments play too loud (what I'm saying  )

I was hoping Stratovarius would Cover "Fade to Black" but, Sonata beat them to it! :(

I'd like to hear them do "Stairway to Heaven" and "the House of the Rising Sun".

Some very old Oldies, in other words. :)

I second that ! Stairway To Heaven would be very nice with Koti's voice.
