Hello boys and girls. What do you think, the next metal genre will be, that Rhapsody finds out? They have invented epic, hollywood, film score bla bla bla genres. But what's next? I'm curious.

I don't think they have. There are still a couple of bands ahead of them.

They further developed Cheese Metal, I'll give them that.

Ohh, then who had invented Epic metal?

This is just "labels" that people use. Rhapsody might have invented something really epic, focused on dragons & swords, but this term and music already existed for a really long time.
Myself, I have already heard the word "epic" back to 1993, when Stratovarius released "Twilight Time"

And the other words you used, they don't mean anything at all !!!
Hollywood or film score come on, movie scores have been existing since many decades!
In their last album, they hadn't invented anything at all. They not only used the same "recipe" they have always used in their albums, but they also took almost everything from Lord Of The Rings, and surfing on the fashion of this movie. So what's next ? ... mmm... I dunno... perhaps they'll get inspiration from Shrek 2, especially of the scene with the sad dragon and the donkey and their children

This is EXACTLY the kind of sentence that music companies write in their ads to promote albums. They always try to create new categories, to make the readers interested in the album.
I wouldn't say that a band "X" plays "this" of "that" style. Let's just say that it plays like "X" (and not like "Y")... cause afterall, this is definitely the best way to describe a music, without falling into those complex and useless "style" words.

Seriously, though. Call it cheese or be sarcastic or brand it a publicity stunt if you want, but those guys ARE making sounds that no one's ever heard before.

It is rather unnecessary though to invent a new genre of metal for every damn band that comes out, though. *discreetly points to Static-X*

Well, I didn't say, that Rhapsody sucks ass. I like their music. But I find it kinda funny, that they invent new metal genres all the time. Though, they change some in their music, it still can't be considered as new style imho. It's just publicity stunt, as you said before.

I call their music Disney Metal ...

Exactly! People should show them a bit more respect considering how much influence they've had on this whole "epic fantasy (etc...) power metal".

Well, "Symphony Of The Enchanted Lands" (or smth like that, don't remember the title exactly) was actually fresh and very nicely sounding album but hearing same album over and over again, only with more classical arrangements and more ridiculous lyrics is too much for me ... I can't listen to this band without laughing, they have the same effect on me as goregrind bands ...

seriously....i dont think that they created something, they just use some xtras elements in their songs...its epic i think

i know a song they should make:the tale of the sword of king boredom....
...i don't like them....although luca is a very good guitarist i can't stand listening to them over 10 min. i listened to unholy warcry and said nice song....then i listened to the chorus and said sucky song.....but i really like some songs...anyway......

Rhapsody invented metal genres? I really don't care for this band at all. In my opinion, Virgin Steele did all this stuff far earlier than Rhapsody and much better. The only thing that looks interesting about the new cd, is that Christopher Lee is gonna be on it.

From what I remember, there was a huge rumour, telling that Rhapsody was fake band, and everything (especially the orchestral stuffs) were done by Sasha Paeth (or Miro, I don't remember much).
