Questions about Ivalo(I'm not asking anything, I answer.)

Post by StratoFactor » Sun Jul 24, 2005 7:20 pm

Now, because we Ivalonians(Or I have, to be more spesific) have been spamming a little too often and we have turned some topics into our playgrounds, I decidet to make this little topic. Here you can ask all about Ivalo and us Ivalopeople will maybe try to answer your questions. And because of tis topic, I will concentrate only to the subject when I post answers to other topics. Okay, I quote too and ask questions but I won't turn the place into Ivalo party hall.(I don't know if the other Ivalonians will follow my example?)

See you here!

No I'm not, because certain people complain to me about that we turn the place into little Ivalo. So I turned to action mood and started this.

Well, I knew you would have a some sort of an evil plan to try and bring Ivalo to the World Map, but I don't think THIS is going to work.

This is going to be our playground. I don't think that anybody else would be interested... about Ivalo, the center of the world.

Yes, I think I'll have to delete this sooner or later... But anyways, not many new topics are coming up, so this is better than nothing,eh?

Does Ivalonians ever stop posting?

Another one:

Does Ivalonias have anything else to do than post in a band forum?

I'm sorry, couldn't resist. :D

Hey, I'd like to know more about Ivalo. I study social and cultural anthropology (sosiaali- ja kulttuuriantropologia :D ) and I want to apply to the university of Helsinki because I'm interested in Finnish culture. So go ahead, feel free to talk about Ivalo all you want :D

Okay, if you ask something we answer. But let's see, what could I tell you about Ivalo...Hmm, well it is a really small village in the middle of nowhere(meaning northLapland) and we have lots of reindeers and crappy weathers. And the best place where we can buy records is S-Markets recordstand :( . You could actually count those cd's with hundreds... And if u take out those cd's that are the same you can count them with tens. . And some say, (those are all wrong) that we have a beautiful city and a cool airport. But we have loads of untouched nature and lots of metalheads! 8) Anything to add MetalManiac,Stratofanius,Pikkusielu?

...but lots of reindeers? Yes, there are a lot of reindeers in Lapland, but not here in Ivalo. They don't usually come into villages.

Well, try to travel somewhere by car without slowing down for reindeers.

At this moment, no. Ivalo doesn't have too many hobby possibilities. You would say: go hiking or hunting or fishing or whatever. For tourists that would be fun, but as a inhabitant of Ivalo, I -personally- hate those things.

Sorry about the non-edit.

Easy question: what is Ivalo? :)

Edit: you don't have to answer, I already know it...

Ivalo is near the Hotel Kakslautanen - Igloo Village, isn't it? Early this year I was planning to travel up there (to see the northern lights) and my travel agent told me that I needed to take a plane from Helsinki to Ivalo first.

My plans got postponed for who knows when, but I'm still interested... does that Igloo Village is that good as its advertisement says? Will I see the northern lights through my crystal roof if I stay 3 days? Will I die frozen? ( remember I come from a city where the coldest winter temperature is 13ºC and I'm freezing now )

Thanks!

I've already seen those igloos villages on tv..
Maybe you will freeze from the inside too?

Well, your coldest winter temperature looks like to my autumn temperature city where i live.. The most low temperature i've seen in my region when it's winter, was -21°C..
But in general, every year, we've often between -1 and -12°C.

Ehh, well, we have a band already, but from this forum only StratoFactor and one other spammer whose name I will not reveal here (yet) is in it. Stratofunius and Pikkusielu have their own "projects".

One winter we had about -50'C. It was cold as hell, but usually it is somewhere between -25'C - -5'C

And yes, Hotel Kakslauttanen is pretty near Ivalo. A bit south from Saariselkä.
