Left-handedness should be criminalized.

Post by NordicStorm » Wed Sep 28, 2005 7:30 am

Yeah, you heard me! I'm so sick and tired of all these left-handed people going around flaunting their left-handedness by insisting on always using their left hand. Don't they understand the corrupting influence this perversion has on our children? Would someone, for the love of God, think of the children!

Oh, left-handedness isn't a choice you say? Bullshit. If I pick up a pencil, I can use either my right hand or my left hand, it's entirely up to me. Just because you have a preference to use your left hand doesn't mean you have to act on it!

Look, it's even in the Bible. In Leviticus:
"Thou shalt not use thy left hand as thou would use thy right hand"

Do you people even know the Latin word for "left"? "Sinister". That's right. "Sinister". Evil right there in the name.
In fact, Osama bin Ladin is left-handed! Coincidence? I think not!

I would like to finish of this rant by adressing the fa...left-handed people themselves: I don't hate you personally, I just hate everything that you are and stand for. Now, act like normal people and use your right hand in the future. Is it really that hard?
Bloody perverts.
Give me liberty, or give me cake!

Nordic, you should renew your Prosac :D

i guess your post was just a joke, but maybe I can give my own point of view, as I'm a left-hander.

Honestly, you (right-hander) would reconsider your opinion about left hander in a TOTALLY diferent way. You have no idea how difficult it can be sometimes to be a left hander, because most of the things around us are made for right handers, like cissors, cups, doors, cars, computers and so on. Playing the piano is total madness for a left hander (the left hand to play the bass part). Btw, why there is not any piano for left hander (you know, with reverse keys ?) ?

And about the "preference" to use the left or right hand. You really can't fight against it, it's something that comes with you when you are born.

You're right, left handers had always represented a "threat", because people said that they were creatured sent to earth by Satan. People actually used to burn left handers in market places 400 or 500 years ago!
My mum is also a left hander, and when she was a student, she was forced to write with her right hand. The teachers used to hit left-handers' with a iron rule to destroy their left hands so they write with their right hands, to be normal. My mum has a destroyed hand because of that.
mmm.

And you should know, that it has been prooved (it's official) that left handers have more faculties than right handers (it has something to do with one part of our brain). Many "genius" are or were left handers. some names : Napoleon, Michelangelo, Einstein, Picasso, Beethoven, Ravel, Bach, Hendrix, Kurt Cobain, Robert Plant, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Léonardo da Vinci, Bill Clinton, Benjamin Franklin, Gandhi, Winston Churchill, Jules César, Charlemagne, Jack the ripper, Bill Gates, H. G. Wells, Alexander The Great, Phil Collins, Keanu Reeves, Robert de Niro, Charlie Chaplin, Bruce Willis, Tom Cruise, Julia Roberts, Marylin Monroe, Nicole Kidman, Jeanne D'Arc (that one finished burned for real), Ramses II, Mark Knopfler.

I have only one thing to say :

Hogwash! I have to admit that yes, I, too, was once a left-hander. But I have renounced my sins and received the forgiveness of the lord! For 23 long disgusting years I walked on this earth, thinking it was perfectly okay to be left-handed, not realizing what a perversion and distortion of goodness it was. Not anymore, not anymore! For the first time in my life, I'm walking on the path of the righteous, and you can too! Renounce your sin of left-handedness or burn forever in the fiery depths of hell!

Besides, left-handedness is icky. Have you ever seen left-hand-on-left-hand-handshaking? Eww! Gross!
Nordic, you should renew your Prosac :D
Are you, good sir, suggesting I'm going slightly overboard?

Actually, I have already walked on the path of the righteous. Check the picture of myself from Jens forum, the one with the bass guitar. I play it like a right hander. Actually not, considering that I use my both hands, and also sometimes my feet, but that's another story!
Besides, left-handedness is icky. Have you ever seen left-hand-on-left-hand-handshaking? Eww! Gross!
hand shaking. This is something really difficult! I always have to wait that the person give her hand, to be sure I'll give the "right" one.

Are you, good sir, suggesting I'm going slightly overboard?
overboard ? do you mean this ?

Hey! You leave your personal affiliations out of this! This is a very serious and rational matter!

This is sth that has always interested me the difference between righ and left handed people. And after having studied it a little bit I realize how important this thing can be.

Yes, a person is born right or left handed. Because of the bible and other common sense related stuff people in the past didn´t allow kids to be lefties and that was really bad. For it can 'cause a whole mess in your brain when talking about coordination and other stuff (but of course you can learn to use both hands and that is sth really good).

Right and left sides of the brain think differently and that is yes what explains so many left-handed people are so good at arts and related stuff. There is even a book which I have read and used to learn to draw that talks about it (it was actually the beggining of my interest for this topic. It is named "Drawing with the right side of the brain" for those who might be interested.

But still today left-handed have trouble finding scissors and other stuff made just for them...

I am a right-handed guy, but I use the mouse with my left hand, and I fight with my right leg in the front. So I'm a bit confusing, and I like it. :)
