I don't care what you people say, despite having a few lesser songs, Unia is their greatest album. :P

Stratovarius - Fright Night

Awesome piece of sound, just like all others of the albums, FS just...hit nearly as hard as HHaL, and other songs were pretty nice too, and yes! another instrumental song!

Joe Satriani - Super Colossal

Bought this a while back, not his best piece of work in my opinion, but still enjoyable to listen to :D

I picked up White Skull's - The XIII Skull last week for £3.99 on play.com, it's not their best, but at that price it's a bargain! :D

SonataArctica - Unia

As with everyone else, this album (all songs separately actually) do not open perfectly at the first time, I already heard Pif 4 times today (most of the other songs twice or thrice), and I came to love it, i feel like dancing just as like in the video.
Althrough this album has a weakness too (in the means of comaparing), these sounds fall at the strike of Kotipelto (Stratovarius nor Ironmaiden wasn't able) Old SA is...old for some time, but I'll get this thing melted together into the mass.

Happily, I get alot of inspiration for new songs from these, when I first heard Pif I next wrote song "From Twilight to Dawn", Ib&w did give some nice feelings too, but I don't have words or "soundlines" right now, nor the time to write a song, others give some inspiration too, but I'm not in enough yet.

Happily I didn't pay for this myself so I can buy Serenity or something when I next visit Raahe.

Edit:

A chart of how my music taste goes "what is better than what", note that I mention SA and Unia separately.

Strato is so far my all time favorite,
Old SA beats it, althrough I'm not in the SA feeling right now.
Soad beats Old SA pretty nicely.
Unia beats the violence of Soad.
Kotipelto's speed and power breaks out of dreams.
Strato and Ironmaiden are alot better than Kotipelto.
Ironmaiden is really good but loses fight against Unia.
Scooter is too unknown to me, but it...actually is immune to other bands, not better, not worse.
The Black Mages also strikes while "enemy drops it's guard", the man with the machine gun is pretty much an exploder.
Nightwish beats TBM and Unia, but it's no match for all others (except Scooter).
Apocalyptica does not beat TBM, but it will kill Nightwish, and it's also nice "quick defence" against Unia.

Quess that's it.

That's right, didn't own it yet, but I've only recently started liking this new, unknown band. :P

Watain - Sworn to the Dark

Easily one of the best black-metal albums of the year.

As I haven't told yet:

Ironmaiden - Live After Death

I do like the songs a lot, never heard any of those before (except the trooper I have heard as a cover from Sentenced).

My favorites are Powerslave, Aces High, The Trooper and well...I can't remember :D

I quess I like Aces High the most, I also like The trooper as it's so...uniqueish and such, even though it's alot slower than Sentenced version of it, it's much better.

Dream Theater - Systematic Chaos
Excellent effort from the New Yorkers, like a lot more than their previous two albums (which I also like)

Symphony X - Paradise Lost
Their best CD since Divine Wings, could be the best album of the year, love the songs, fucking amazing live!

Sonata Arctica - Unia
It IS weird, but a good kind of weird, very proggy for them, some songs are a bit anticlimactic and the solos could be better but I like it, nice contrast from Ecliptica which was all about speed.
Close your eyes and try to remember, destroyed lullabies of days gone by
Close your eyes on the edge of forever, a chance to dream fast asleep your nightmare ends
