Well, how many of us had seen Tolkki playing guitar in age 8. I think very few or nobody. Maybe he was already very skillful at that time too.

i'm sure Mike Varney is lurking right now to sign the boy in a near, near future...who knws? maybe we have a new Jason Becker there!!!

yeah...sometimes it's a lot better a well played single note than a lot of hyperspeedscales...like Blackmore said...it's easy to play really fast, but it's a lot harder to sustain a note...somethig like that...

what he lacks is creativity and experience, all he played were scales, frigios and other modal figures. He did it well, i'd say, amazing considering his age.
But wait just a few years, when he (hopefuly) develops creativity, feeling and get some experience...he already has the technique, speed and good theory, so let's just wait

i think everybody can learn these technique in two years...it's nothing difficult, just practising and practising...but in the future, when he is older, we will maybe see...

In his Forum, TT said he was 7 when he started learning-so, I wasn't off the mark much! hats pretty young&impressive, IMO!

That kid needs orientation, i hope he takes advantage of his skills and don't give up.
BTW, I also heard that rumor about Tolkki. Timo is a great musician, i wouldn't be surprised that he started playing at 7. But please do not missunderstand me, but i don't like Timo's style that much, i find him so repetitive nowadays, in the past he used a wide universe of techniques while soloing, now he shreds too much, but his creativity in composing is a total blast!
The fact that i don't like him that much doesn't mean that he is a loussy guitar player, it is just my opinion, if i'd thought that i wouldn't be here posting in the forum of the band that i like so much. Okay ??
