EARTHQUAKE IN SIBERIA

Friday there was a 7.7 earthquake in the Siberian region of Russia. In one village, several were killed&many injured. There have been several aftershocks--strong ones--since then.
I know Siberia is an enormous&vast place, but did anyone of our Russian posters know about that?

@Forget-me-not, was that quake close to your area?

It was near Irkutsk, and it's a little bit far from Krasnoyarsk, and I'm not sure that this earthquake could touch Krasnoyarsk enough to notice this. I hope it's OK there.

I'll call to my sister now.

EDIT: Ha-ha, my sister doesn't watch TV and she even doesn't know that there was an earthquake somewhere. Well it shows that Forget-Me-Not didn't suffer.

Though I know what is it - to be in the center of earthquake so I'm sorry that some people suffered somewhere...

Don't worry, I'm OK! It didn't touch Krasnoyarsk.

By the way, earthquakes strike the area near lake Baikal rather often, and once I experienced one of them there. It wasn't severe, but rather perceptible.

Its a relief to know you guys are OK-I guess I forgot how big a Country Russia really is!

I have a link to a webpage&it tells about all the seismic activity, and quakes in the world--there has been a terrible amount of rumblings in the Siberian area. I mean, way above normal, it seems. But, since you do live there you know about that more than I. :)

When I have time I will post the link to that page. :)

I didn't know about this...Here, in TV news, they don't talk about the earthquakes that touch Russia, but always about Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Israel, Marocco, Algeria, Turkey, and so on and so on...that's not good! It pisses me off sometimes. Otherwise, I hope that all the people living in the area of the Siberian earthquakes are safe...

Earthquakes usually are not very severe in Siberia, that's why they aren't worth telling in world TV news. Coffee is splashed out of cups, chandeliers rock and so on :) Mostly only animals and seismographs record an earthquake

Oh, it was at the Far East, not near Irkutsk! That region is rather active in seismic respect. And it isn't usually considered as Siberian territory

I don't watch TV news too.. :)
