Ok, I'm not sure if I'm the only one, but I've been having difficulties accessing the forum lately. The only way I could get into it was by clicking on one of the links to one of the posts on the main Strato page.

I wouldn't either, because 2/3 of them are gone anyway, from all the culling&cleaning in the past. You know, every few months someone deletes useless topics which are long since dead. Thats where they all went, as everyone else's. Spam is disposable anyway. :D

hey you're right.. before the clean up, the spam area had 4 pages, now they're just 2..

I didn´t know because hadn´t ever looked that. But thanks for the info. Now we have the reason for why some posts disappeared. :)

I have problems with the forum too. Sometimes I got that annoying message that it can't get the data server or something like that and I can't load the forum :?

Well, this clean-up is necessary, I guess. Otherwise the bandwidth would get loaded down, or something.

All the stupid massive topics slow down the forum. On some forums they have a policy whereby once a topic reaches 1000 posts, it automatically gets locked.

Maybe you've right :?...

Damn...I can't lie!! :x You've right!!

When a forum begins to fuc* like in this moment the major possibility is that!!

Or even 100 posts!

Hm then I think it would be good not to start/post lots of topics with a huge bunches of photos. Perhaps only "Funny Strato-pics" and "Show me your picture" should be allowed or...

actually pictures don't particularly slow down the forum, since they are external links). What the PHP forum only does is to send the html code to your browser (no matter if a picture is 2Kb or 495MB, the code is still <img src="picture">)

hey, did you notice that some topics have disappeared? The spam section is much smaller again. And also some users (including me) complain about having lost a couple of posts.
I just noticed cuz I was looking for the "songs you couldn't get out of your head"-topic and can't find it anywhere.

Yes we have... Because Dave & someone else already have already mentioned that above.

That´s sad, though that topic was very spammy, it was a very nice topic, because I bet everyone is having some song on his/her head continuosly.

I agree. Pictures should be restricted to a certain size. We don't need screen-filling images.

Yes, forgot to mention that on my previous post.

We should learn that from the Sonata-forum again. Or if thinking bout size restriction, sth limited to less than 600-640 pixels wide...
