I think it's a big mistake to justify a defeat because of one player's absence. Sure they didn't have Koller, but Ghana attacked all the time... And Koller is not a defender but a striker, so he wouldn't have been able to do much for the Czech defence. Let's not take credit away from Ghana. From what I see, people seem to explain Ghana's victory by saying that the Czechs had a bad game, etc. I think that's unfair for Ghanians. IMO, they played much better than the Czechs and they were a very entertaining team to watch. They played a good game independently of whether the Czechs played well or not. Besides, maybe the Czechs didn't play so well because Ghana didn't allow them... And that's Ghana's merit.

Aaarrrggghh! I said it a million times: You can get all the fixtures and info from Microsoft Scoreboard (the little program).

USA is pupu. And I totally agree with Stealth in his last comment about Ghana, and I'm glad Mexico didn't do anything last time they played.

Nope, can't do that. I have to watch the games. Plus, I personally don't watch either Univision or Telemundo...but, I don't live by myself.

Congratulations Argentina, the first espectacular game in the whole world cup up to now.
You were right NLC. :) But still, that was just one game and they were inspired. The next games won't be so easy, but I hope they maintain a satisfactory level.

Btw, there's a chance Argentina and Mexico could meet in the round of 16. :) We'll have to wait and see how things develop.

Brazil 2 Aus. 0.

They seem to have gotten their act together since the last poor showing, but I'm still not convinced.

Brazil played a very poor game. The second goal was just a consecuence of Australia going forward and leaving gaps in defence.

I'll be on Graspop Metal Meeting in Belgium during the eights-finals. Two years ago, after Holland won the quarterfinals of the European Cup, thousands of dutch kids were shouting all the night "Huuurrrraaaa!" . Guess it will be the same this year, the've got quite a good team.

I'm just glad, it's not Holland-Germany when I'm there

There was a poll in some greek site, and I thought of uploading the results... The question was: After these first games, where we have seen how the teams actually play, who do you think will win?
And the results:
Argentina 42,4 %
Brasil 18,8 %
Italy 9,5 %
Germany 8,5 %
etc...
If you by any chance know greek, here's the page. :) http://www.in.gr/sports/default.asp

Oh, and you understand this isn't anything official. :)

Pffff.... They are saying that about Argentina because they played well ONE game. People are too hot-blooded and get easily excited. The truth is that Argentina played a very good game against Serbia, but that doesn't mean they are going to play like that all the time. It's important to keep your feet on the ground.
