World Cup 2006

Ok, I had created this topic in the Spam section, long ago when the distinction between "Spam" and "Other" was still not clear. I have now decided to put it here.

The World Cup starts in 41 days. Sadly, I'm not excited at all... My team is playing like crap and the coach is an ignorant moron. All he did in two years was "try players". He's still "trying" players... What the hell?!? He can see the players in their leagues every week and he should have had a team ready long ago! (yes I know, sometimes you make a change here or there when the competition approaches). The consequence: the players in the team don't know and don't understand each other well as a group. We'll be out of it soon.

And what do you guys think about all the injured players that are trying to make it? I'm waiting for Heinze, Mascherano and Messi. On the other hand, I really hope the keeper breaks a leg or something... he sucks!

I understand you, something similar is oing on with Mexico. There are many players who joined few months ago, and didn't follow the whole tournament as a team, so they don't know and understand each other as well.
It is a shame, but something tells me, that Brazil will be the Wold Cup Champions again...(cool for you brazilians :D)

My team (Holland) are looking good at the moment. I am so looking forward to the world cup! It's my favourite sporting event! No matter how good/bad my team do, I am still looking forward to seeing some great games of football. 8)

It will be a competition for who comes second.

Brazil is, unfortunately, unstoppable. It will be quite boring in that respect.

Why is boring to see the best team play and wipe out all others?

I just can't seem to get it.

(It's the same thing with the Yankees....)

Half the fun is not knowing who will win. Perhaps difficult to see if it's your team playing and winning all the time, but it just gets boring for everyone else. I cite the example of Ferrari in Formula 1 in the first half of this decade. Viewing numbers plummeted across the globe, it just wasn't interesting to see Schumacher come first each time.

The tale is not like that for me. XD

I agree. Another example: Federer in tennis. I'm sick of seeing him win. It just takes the excitement away.

What???

You know how excited I was in the 05 US Open when he was playing against Agassi? That was A.W.E.S.O.M.E. I was so happy watching the old man losing...

World Cup... well, not my thing, but i have to admit that 4 years ago, France really made me laugh (and made me feel ashamed at the same time). Coz most of those football players were staring in stupid TV commercials, France team had tons of sponsors, everyone said "France is the favorite team. They will definitely win the cup this year"... Franceplayed versus crap teams but the players couldn't even score once ! A terrible shame for a team who won the cup 4 years before !)

Anyway... pretty sad that football became more business than show.

Brazil will loose it...i hope.

Im so fucking pissed off to see that 80% of our players doesnt play like in their clubs. The coach is an asshole, our defense sucks cock, the worst in the world.

From the midfield to attack is ok...but at least, ronaldinho could play at least 40% that he plays in barcelona, thats too much???

Nope, there is too much noise about it everywhere...newspapers, tv, radio, merch stuff offered everywhere and so on. Let's hope to see some good matches and cross fingers for an underdog.

NO! No underdogs!! I want Argentina to win. :D Of course, this is just wishful thinking, because it's not going to happen.

3 days until the squads are announced.

Damn, I'm going to have to wait until AFTER the world cup to see what happens in the Libertadores cup. :x

@ Strago: You should be happy that we eliminated Corinthians. :D

This fucking Pekerman (Argentina's coach) is an idiot! He's telling today to many players that they won't be in the world cup. He's killing many of those who thought they were going to go for sure. He's a retard, he should let them know with anticipation and not make a million unexpected changes near the end! :x :x
