My second favourite Dimmu-song right after Progenies Of The Great Apocalypse.
EDIT: On the related videos there's in fact a pretty goddamn sweet version of that song:

Lapko - Killer Whales

A cool Finnish rock band. They are quite big in Finland now. This is not metal, but might appeal to the same audience.

I can enjoy all kinds of music from rap to grincore, indie being the only exception.
And you know what's the worst? Snobby, pseudointellectual indie-fans. People who think listening to Radiohead makes them smart. Fuck that, if you want to be a music-elitits, at least listen to classical music.

Re: Crazy videos
For me it sounds quite good. I have no idea if I'm snobby, pseudointellectual indie-fan (how can I find it out??), but some of those "indie" or "altenative" bands are definitely worth to listen . Tough question is if I would be able to hear more than 5 seconds of rap without destroying the source of those strange sounds...Mormegil wrote:Oh good heavens how I hate that band. More good humor from Joe- he wrote this during his James Gang days, back when music was actually fun.

I wonder if the 2:30-2:40 -part was an intentional Monty Python -homage.
I spent this weekend watching the stand-up shows from the likes of Patton Oswalt, Dane Cook, Dave Chappelle etc. on YouTube. I recommend everyone to check some of those out.
Also, something for you, dear liberals:

Speaking of Wolfgang- here he is live with his dad, uncle Al, and Roth doing the VH classic "Unchained"
It's crazy that Ed can get his new EVH Fender heads to sound like his old Marshall Plexi- 'brown sound' indeed, regardless of the amp, I think that 90% of Ed's sound is in his fingers.

Remember Hanson?
It was that pop/rock band with three 15-or-so -old boys that had the hit song 'Mmmbop' in the end of 90's.
Now, do you like Helloween? Have their Better Than Raw -album?
Right, then here's some fucked-up shit for you:

John Cleese as Screwtape
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V4ajxnQI ... re=related
One of my favorite actors reading one of my favorite books! C.S. Lewis's classic "The Screwtape Letters" is now an audio book- a preview of which can be found at the URL above. In fact, I'm going to Barnes & Noble this week to get this so I can listen to it while I commute back and forth from work.
For those that are unfamiliar with this work, Screwtape is a fictional high ranking demon that is teaching his "nephew" Wormwood, through a series of letters, the finer points of stealing a man's (The Patient) soul. This is reverse theology with references to the Enemy (God) as well as Our Father Below (Lucifer). There is also a cameo appearance by Toadpipe (Screwtape's secretary) while the boss is temporarily away on business. A classic read, a great study in human nature, and an outstanding oration by Cleese as well. I can't think of anyone that would be better suited to read this than him!
Here is an excerpt from Chapter One-
"Jargon, not argument, is your best ally in keeping him from the church. Don't waste time trying to make him think that materialism is true- make him think it is strong or stark or courageous- that it is the philosophy of the future. Those are the things that he cares about"
"The trouble about argument is that it moves the whole struggle to the Enemy's own ground. He can argue too, whereas in really practical propaganda of the kind I'm suggesting He has been shown for centuries to be greatly inferior to Our Father Below."
"By the very act of arguing, you awake the patient's reason, and once it is awake, who can foresee the result? Even if a particular train of thought can be twisted so as to end in our favor, you'll find that you have been strengthening in your patient the fatal habit of attending to universal issues and withdrawing his attention from the stream of immediate sense experiences."
"Your business is to fix his attention on the stream. Teach him to call it real life, and don't let him ask what he means by real. Remember, he is not like you, a pure spirit. Never having been a human, (oh, that abominable advantage of the Enemy's!), you don't realize how enslaved they are to the pressure of the ordinary."

Carlos Santana w/ Derek Trucks of the Allman Bros.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JQ3Riafw ... re=related
Trucks is still really young, but insanely great. Toured as co-lead guitarist w/ Clapton last year, and does not use any effects at all- a Gibson SG and a slide straight into a Fender Super Reverb amp- and still gets unbelievable tone.
Trucks is a very cool, quiet, and laid back guy- whenever he's in town playing the Market Street Performance Hall, he always comes over and hangs out with me and my friends for a few minutes. Does the drink, autograph, and photo-op thing. Asks everyone if they enjoyed the show, and then simply goes on about his business.
