We will all miss Mr. Irwin who truly seemed to love animals&seemed a very fun-loving, agreeable person.
He died doing what he loved to do: being with wildlife&filming it, to share his love&knowledge of animals with us.
I am sure this love&concern for wildlife earned Mr. Irwin his wings, and if there is a Heaven he has earned hs place among the stars!
Croc Hunter leaves behind a wife&2 children.

RIP steve mate! You were a great person to all animals! The world is a little bit duller without you.

A true shame, though I have to admit it isn't necessarily a shock. I mean, the man did play around with snakes, sharks, crocs (obviously) as well as anything in between with fangs, claws or stings. So I was surprised he lived that long with so "few" grave injuries...

Oh! when I was a little child I saw all his programs.
R.I.P, I can't say anymore.

Sad, but yes, hardly a surprise. Stingrays are very docile and unagressive, he must have really annoyed it.

I find it kinda ironic. I mean, c'mon, the guy wrestled with crocs and wild animals. I think it was bound to happen.
However, it is a tragic loss. May God bless the Irwin family, and I pray that he will find rest in the Lord's house.

I zapped sometimes into his shows and was riveted what I have seen and by his effort and happyness with animals...

Kinda expected him to go that way...wonder why the Stingray actually attacked though, it's not their normal habit
Feel sorry for his family though.

that's really bad luck... the Ray's poison isn't lethal to humans, but it had to sting him right in the heart....
Yesterday I felt that a piece of my childhood died

RIP Cazador de Cocodrilos

RIP. I wasn't able to believe it, but yesterday my mom told me that. I liked his shows, despite I rarely watched it. I'm really sorry for Terri and the kids, and I hope he is in a better place now.
At last, he died doing the things he loved the most.

Hmm... The problem is that I don't know very much about him. I feel sorry for his family, yes. But the fact that he played with those dangerous animals, well, it was obvious that he risked his own life - which is okay (just like Sigfried and Roy, those two magicians, after many years withouth any problem in their shows, one of them was bitten by a tiger).
BUT: When I saw the pictures of this guy, wrestling with a crocodile AND HOLDING HIS VERY OWN BABY IN HIS ARMS, I just thought "what an ignorant stupid idiot!!!!!" I only feel sorry for his family, but not for him.
And can someone explain to me (that's really because I don't know much about his life), what were those "good things" he did to animals? I read it through some posts and articles, that in some way he helped animals. But all I could find were pics where he wrestled with some dangerous species, gaining attention and money with this.

I think in some of his shows, he was trying to help the animals because they were injured or sick or something to that nature...and then there were times when...well...it was just to see a wild animal up close...XD

Well he was a proffesional, and dealed with crocs since a kid, for him it wasn't dangerous to feed that animal with his baby in arms, its not like someone else was doing it, it was Steve Irwin.
Yes he did help to animals, even wrestling with them, if you had seen the show you would know that he prefered to catch them like that than with anestesia for the best of the animal, taking them away from where they could have been shot to a safer place to them.
You're being really mean saying you're not sorry for him, even if that's what you think, it's one of those things that shouldn't be said.

I think that its kind of sad that he died from a stingray though. I saw an interview where he had mentioned that he felt that the ocean wasnt as much of his field as land or marsh was.... so it's kind of sad that he got stabbed through the heart by a gigantic fish rather than having his head bitten off by a crocodile or a kangaroo. But i will say the news of his death did make my day really gloomy.

I wasn't aware kangaroos could bite your head off
To be fair, this is an
Australian stingray we're talking about. Like, most things in the water north of Sydney could probably kill you just by looking at you. Actually, most animals in Australia are severely lethal. Like, giant spiders that bite you and 3 days later you leg falls off, or something like that.
I'm never, ever going there.

I was being facetious about the kangaroo... but I'm sure SOMEONE somwhere has been killed by a kangaroo. Maybe a rabid kangaroo.
Your resolve to never ever go to australia made me laugh, i agree.

... I'm scared of kangaroos and ducks. Especially ducks.
Back on the subject, i'm still really sad that he died.... I dont think that there's going to be another person with the balls and the knowledge that he had to go face to face with deadly things that can kill you instantly.

Of course a kangaroo can kill you, just like everything else on that godforsaken continent. I wouldn't be surprised if a koala bear had some sort of secret lethal weapon beneath its cute, fuzzy looks.
Australians themselves are also quite deadly after enough to drink

I just read in a magazine yesterday that a couple days before he died Steve Irwin was given a Professorship to an Australian University. Damn, talk about bad luck. If he'd lived to do the Prof job he would not have been around many dangerous animals again...........except hot coeds.
Coincidences in Life are something else!
