Well, it's mostly about the pyramids and ancient history in Cairo. If you're very interested in those things you can also visit a few museums.

In the evening there are some nice boats on the Nile, some of them do short cruises, and some of them are stationary. You'll find mainly restaurants and cafe's there, and maybe a few bars... etc

If you like those two things, then you won't get bored in Cairo, but if you're looking for a holiday resort or such, you can go to Hurghada, or Sinai (places like Taba, or Sharm el Sheikh).

If you can go to the South,go to Abu Simbel,to see the Temple of the Sun,dedicated to Ramesses II.

And of course Gizeh.

Enjoy it!

Thanx guys!

We were looking to go to Luxor, then Hurghada or El Gouna, but couldn't get internal flights. So now we're either going to Cairo, then Hurghada or El Gouna.....or we're just going to do 10days in Hurghada.

Didn't want to go to Sharm El Sheikh as it's way too westonized.

How far away is Sinai?? That would be kool to see :-)

What about Alexandria--the city Alexander the Great founded? I've saw pics of it&it is a beautiful coastal city.

Wherever you decide to go, you are very lucky to get to see Egypt! Most people only dream of seeing such an exotic&beautiful historical country!

I think there were. Alexander the Great named most of the cities he founded after himself! :) The one I'm referring to is on the East coast of Egypt&is a big city today.
Ptolemy, one of Alexanders generals&friends ruled Egypt from there after Alexanders death&began the Ptolemy dynasty. Ptolemy was an ancester of Cleopatra(Her great-great-great granddad, or something)But, thats neither here nor there. Off-topic. :red:
