Aah, tremendous idea to plan HammerFall joining there. But at least they could suit too there quite well. A good question will be too that how many countries plan to send now hard rock or metal acts this time...

Should The69Eyes be Finland´s next choice for EuroVision? :P

No... If "Svedupellet" are going I mean Hammerfall, Then Stratovarius must go allso to Eurovision at next year. Stratovarius have Homefield... And i Don't mean Timo Kotipelto.
Then WE (Finnish) gonna win again them.

I dunno if it is good when in any years only rock&metal reigns the competition. Then we have metal all the time on the TV but it won't be so familiar like it is now. The scene and the atmosphere on the gigs could be "destroyed" by kidz...

I'll be disappointed if a load of heavy metal bands start trying out for Eurovision.

It's great that Lordi won it last year, and brought the attention on hard rock and metal, but at the end of the day Eurovision is a shallow, meaningless artistic void, made up mostly of manufactured music designed simply to be popular. And I'd be upset if my favourite bands started wanting to be part of it. One of the many reasons I love this music and community is because they dont give a crap what anyone else thinks, and believe in doing the right thing for themselves.

Taking part in the Eurovision is against all those principals.

Whatever, maybe I'm taking it too seriously.

I don't think so NeonVomit.

I remember all the cool gigs I was and won't think about when the gigs were overcrowded by kids of 14years with a Winny-Poo-shirt and think, Britney has written "I love rock'n'roll". It would be very sad and I would be upsetted too! It's a scenario I would definitively not like!

It's cool, Lordi has made the competition, but I think in similar ways as NeonVomit does.

Metal&Rock aren't music for the big publicity. It's something very special for people who stands together and have fun all the time and so it shall be. The time of "Rock goes to charts" was in the 70ies, but - welcome to the 21st century!
