Did anyone by chance get to see the show? I missed it due to work. A friend said that the Police sounded great, and it was announced that they are going on tour this year.

It seems that the Dixie Chicks swept the awards show (zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz), and I'm wondering if these awards were for their actual musicianship, or if the academy gave them the awards as a slap to Music Row?

(I wish someone had stuck a triple-bacon cheeseburger in Natalie Maines' big mouth during the acceptance speech, but I can always dream.)zzzzzz)

Well, it pissed me off because I didn't get to see Cold Case, my fav show!

Seriously, I have never been a fan of those type programs because talent is actually subjective. What deserves an award in your eyes, maybe merits a boot in the ass by mine. And vice versa.

And USA is supposedly a free country--- the Dixie Chicks have a right to believe whatever they want to--just as Ted Nugent can be a gun toting, whisky swigging conservative if he prefers. What matters is the fuckin' MUSIC, man! :music: The MUSIC!

Dixie Chicks aside, something tells me that @StratoTimo probably doesn't have any Rascal Flatts or Brooks & Dunn discs in his CD changer, either. (Can't say I blame him.)

Fire, brimstone, and sulfur aside; Hell for me would be having to actually listen to the Dixie Chicks for all eternity.

Duran Duran on a bad night (and sober) would be more entertaining, and believe me, that's not saying a lot.

I don't know the Dixie Chicks. And:

1. By their name, they sound a little bit to Britney Spears. Not for me.
2. By what you guys have said tells me a lot of who they are so I don't give a damn about them.

And I agree with Kokordilos and Fanius.

The Dixie Chicks are Country-Western genre of music. :yuk: 90% is :puke:

A few C&W musicians are good&there are lots of fans, of course, but its not my cup O' tea.
