HTML From EMail

Post by browneyedgirl » Thu Mar 22, 2007 5:30 pm

Maybe some of the tech knowledged people of this forum can help me abit.

How do you extact HTML from an EMail? Like URLs from images?
For instance, a newsletter has a great image you'd like to get the URL for.
Is there a code, or something to use to get the URL?

Most Source viewers will not read an EMail, so I was wondering how to get the HTML? ???

I think there is a code you can put into a Mail, then send it to yourself&it is then written entirely in HTML script----
Does anyone know of this code?

Anyway, I was wondering about this. ???

Which mail-user agent do you use? Outlook? Outlook Express? The Bat? Perhaps some webmail (web based, like Yahoo, Hotmail) ?
Usually, you can save the message on your hard disk drive "Save As", then open it with Notepad or wordpad, then you can see the code.
<b>This is wrong</b>

Hello @BEG,

Getting the web URL for an image from an e-mail or forum post is usually not too difficult, especially on a Windows PC. You would simply right mouse click on the image, select Properties from the short-cut menu that appears, under the General tab -> Address you would then see the URL for the image itself.

For instance, the URL for your avatar is:

hometown.aol.com/julieuk2005/images/anime30.gif

Unfortunately, since you are using WebTV, it's support for HTML and variants is a bit limited. Used PC's are really cheap now though ($150.00 or so). You might want to consider getting one at some point.

Since I posted this topic I "googled" and found a couple webpages which addressed the issues I had questioned! :) And, I was on the right track---there are codes&steps to use which "show" the html set-up&URLs for images in an E-Mail. Even in Webtv! :D
Good 'ol Google! :D
Anyway, I got the URL for a cute KISS emoticon/smiley which I may use in the future. :D

@miditek, I used a PC for awhile&I know that procedure. Unfortunately, that PC had a fatal hard-drive crash, and Vic took both his notebook, and Desktop with him. So, I plan in the near future to get a PC. Actually, Webtv is not bad(its better than being totally off the grid) but it is limited in applications&can be very pokey at busy net traffic times. :)
