I had to stop it, couldn't tolerate it. It can't be true.... has to be fake, on purpose...

Well, Australians aren't the smartest people on the planet either. I once met a guy from there who thought Spain is in South America. Another one was suprised that there were very few black people in Morocco.

Of course, stupidity knows no barriers either racial political or geographical, but still... holy shit...

I DO admit that I didn´t know who the Australian Prime Minister is...

I don't know shit about Australia either. I know two things about John Howard:

1. He's bald with white/gray hair on the sides.
2. He supports the war in Iraq

Intolerance disguised as humor. What a concept! :D

Intolerance? Where? :???: It's plain old 'making-fun-of-someone' humour that has been done since the dawn of time, I fail to see intolerance anywhere.

So, making fun of other nations is not considered intolerance? ??? Cool! Now that that is settled I guess every country is fair game now! =P

But, seriously, if the USA policies are so bad, why are literally thousands of people coming in, and only a fraction are going out? ???
And, I'm referring to people who are skilled&educated, not counting the ones who are coming to take advantage of the freebies we have to offer, which will soon include citizenship. :?

it's not fun of other nation, it's making fun of people, happens to be all americans, cause it was shot there, here happens the same thing. I've watched lot's of this questions here.

But the "how many sides does the triangle has" it's unforgibable.... (spelled right?)

Making fun of other nations is not intolerance, it's called 'making fun of other nations'. Pretty much how people in different states make fun of each other, but on an international level... happens all the time... always has, always will... get it?

Genocide, ethnic cleansing, war... that's fuelled by intolerance.

Poking fun is just that! Learn how to take a joke! :D

And you have to admit some of those were side-splitting.

Naturally! :D
When something is hated, and made fun of, it is consideed funny. but, when the pigeons come home to roost its not so great, is it? :?
Every race, nationality, country has its stereotypes&many are insulting. Of course, when its not personal we find it hilarious.
Like Scandinavians being immoral degenerates, Italians having tempers, Blacks being lazy, Whites being greedy, Greeks spawn Mobs, Orientals being cold&ruthless, etc, etc. Many who are these peoples can laugh about it, but alot cannot.

No, miditek was trying to be funny. The people in the video were doing it unintentionally, which is always funnier :D

Take it easy!

That video had nothing to do with intolerance. It was not racist in any way. Don't take it too seriously. Borat is partly based on a similar concept and people love him. Jokes based on stereotypes are funny, in this case a stereotype was kinda proved right. But don't worry, we don't know how many correct answers were cut. There are plenty of intelligent and informed people in the states.

A German friend of mine was working in an old folk's home here in Finland. He had a patient who fought in that division. He had a "I love panzers" sticker on his wheelchair.

Oh, I don't take those stereotypes too seriously, :D after all, if I had a nickel for every Southern, Alabama, or Redneck joke I've heard, I'd be able to retire right now&move to Bermuda!
Because I'm a walking stereotype! :D
And, most are not true! :D Thats why we do laugh at the jokes&such. :D

I took an ex-girlfriend to see Borat during it's opening weekend, and it was positively hilarious. However, Cohen was pretty lucky that he didn't get his ass whipped for handing that bag of shit to the lady/debutante in Birmingham. It was funny, but he was really pushing it.

There is a difference between international humor and propaganda. Discernment, however, is often in the eye of the beholder.

There are intelligent people, average people, and stupid people in every country.(With the exception of Poland, that is.). ;)

That is too funny. I wonder if the sticker was in Finnish or German?

I had a teacher in high school who had the same name. Bob Panzer who was a Yankee (a real one) from Noo Yawk.

I think it was in German. He told that he destroyed 12 tanks on the Eastern Front. When I first heard about him I laughed my ass off, the rest of the stuff he said was rather disturbing. He prefered to address my friend in German cause the enemy speaks English. The enemey being the Jews in US.

To be honest, the ugly truth is that various studies have indicated the USA educational system is on a slow, but steady decline. There are rumors that colleges have had to become abit more lax in their entrance exams to allow mor studnts acceptance into their programs.
OTOH, it is said that the Senior HS test(a teen has to pass this test in order to get a diploma)has became much harder, so, I don't know. I know my son made 98%percentile on the Math part of the exam and he had only 1 year of Algebra, so I'm perplexed. ???

I guess what I'm saying is that there are actually many college grads who don't know what the freezing Celsius temp is, the formula for water, or the capital of their own state. But, its understandable because the only date alot of these kids care about is "When is the next Keg Party?" =P

Like everywhere else, it depends on the university. You won't find many ignorant people at Ivy League places like Stanford and Yale, will you?

You'd be surprised... a physics professor I had went to a conference in a really great college and saw how a respected teacher explained a simple gravitational concept but had all the logic and ideas wrong...

Hmmm, I'm not so sure about that:

George W. Bush = Yale alumni

John Kerry = Yale alumni

Howard Dean = Yale alumni

Teddy Kennedy = Harvard alumni
(Teddy was actually expelled from Harvard at one point for cheating, but he eventually was accepted back)

I don't see any Rhodes scholars or Nobel laureates in this short list (which reads more like a roll call from the Short Bus). Do you?

:D

Okay, it's just a Yale thing then :D But then if you want to rattle off a list of Nobel laureates from those same schools, it would never end...
