How much more are people going to be divided in this world?
I never heard of the "G-8" until now!
I mean, the classifying doesn't really bother me, but this selectivity attitude breeds alot of anger&resentment in the world, you know.

The Group of 8 Industrialised Nations has been around for quite a while

These protests are nothing new. They've been happening for years! How did you manage to miss it?

I think I read something about it, but I missed the classifying "G-8" part, I guess. As the world gets more knowlegable, I'm sure the G number will increase!

There's nothing wrong with peaceful protests about anything, I suppose, but rarely does it do any real good. It gets attention to the cause, of course, but rarely does protesting get anything done.

And let the "revolution" begin! Just make sure to steer clear of der Polizei und Feldjager- whom I must admit are doing a much better job at containing these "youths" than the Gendarmerie did in Paris!

I thought that was the whole point of protesting...

Perhaps der Polizei should consider using
Pils or
Kölsch in their roaming
Wasserkanonwagens! Everyone would then be too pickled to throw any more rocks or Molotov cocktails!

I thought the point of protesting was to try to change the status quo or maybe laws, by rubbing a problem, or supposed injustice in people's faces, so to speak.

Neither politically nor grammatically correct. Something for everyone! It must be the fault of that gringo diablo capitalistic imperialist war-mongering yankee dog Bush and his evil, greedy, gluttonous, fuel-burning and environmentally unfriendly gang!
Perhaps it will be Putin, Ahmandinejad, al-Sadr, Nasarallah, Kim, and Assad to rescue the world from Washington's Gollum-like clutches in Team Thug: World Police II

I'd recommend addressing them as "Herr Polizei", or "Herr Hauptmann" (at least to the ranking officer on the scene) especially if one gets caught wearing one of those trendy Che Guevera shirts while throwing rocks at them.

Something tells me Dave is more experienced in dealing with German police than you

Can't argue with that one.

On a related note, I've probably got more experience dealing with the Georgia Highway Patrol than Dave does. Cobb County (Marietta, GA, outside Atlanta) are just about the worst, although the CPD (Chattanooga Police Dept.) are not far behind. Hopefully, Dave won't ever have to deal with any of
them.
Typical redneck cops:
Cop> "Sorry sir, but I believe you have a tail light out on your vehicle".
Motorist> "Are you sure about that, officer?"
Crash! Whack!
Cop> "You do now, sir. But you can pay your fines right here. We do take American Express, shall I swipe your card?"
(typical redneck cops!

)
By the way, I'm wondering how the "Molotov Evangelism" program is going in Rostock? Did the workers of the world unite yet?

Dear me.
If a coppa tried that in this country they'd be hung out to dry
