Ice Hockey World Championships

Anybody else watching the world championships?
What a strange game tonight (Finnish time) between Finland and USA. The referees made the whole thing look like a joke. Well, the important thing is that Finland won, right?
Tomorrow Finland-Canada, another excuse to have some beers and
snus.

Funny thing, I live in Halifax and I didn't know the World Cup was going on until I saw the signs on the streets.
I saw many Finns and Latvians walking around downtown.
Blah, it's all about football for me! So much so that I'm doing research on politics, violence and coruption in Argentine football, and I will be going to an all-football conference in Mexico at the end of the month.
And I don't really want Canada to win the Ice Hockey World Cup. So... go Finns!

I think Czech Team can defeat all the other teams. Btw, France is also turning very good...

Actually the Finland-Canada game was yesterday. Finland got beaten 3-6
. But it wasn't a bad game, Finnish team just made some stupid mistakes and Canada had luck. One goal went in through the helmet of a Finnish player.
I think the next match against USA is on wednesday night, 2 o'clock Finnish time... oh dear.

I think you might be right. Fuck, Finland just lost against them and it looks like Sweden is losing against Canada.
So it'll be be Finland-Sweden in the bronze match. Archrivals meet again! It's going to be one helluva match.

I see the teams walking around town here in Halifax but I'm not sure who's who... Is Sweden the one with red, white, and blue in their flag? Is Finland the one with blue and yellow??

Naaah, you got them all mixed up.
Yellow & blue = Sweden
Red, white & blue = probably Russia
Blue & white = Finland
It's quite simple, just compare the colours of the teams with their national flags.
¡OJO! (yes, I'm taking a Spanish course
): Finland-Sweden is a dream come true for both teams.

Look, I'm thinking about going to university in either Norway, Sweden, Finland, or Denmark in the future, and I may not know a lot about each country, but I do know their flags!!
I've been in Denmark for one year (even though I was too young to remember) and from there my family visited Sweden.
My point was that there's not a lot of excitement surrounding this ice hockey championship here in Halifax.
Here are some pics of the Halifax Metro Centre, where the matches are being played (the Finnish team was in one of those parked buses). I took them two days ago.

Oh damn. Well, I was really tired and had had several beers.
And I watched Cobra (Stallone), which must've numbed my brains.
If I were you I'd go to Sweden or Denmark. Finland is a backwater. Although I'm very happy with my small university here in Turku. And Turku is a quiant town, especially in the summers. Good luck with your plans. I'm going to work in a catholic school in Barcelona this summer, with monks and all. I'm not sure what they want me to do there, since I speak only a little Spanish and no Catalan.
Norway is out, and has been for quite some times now. They suck.

Yes! An incredible match. I sided with Russia, Canada have gotten their share of gold medals.
