It is kind of wrong to call it "Swineflu". No swines are sick and it would rather be called Panicflu or Mediaflu. And you are allowed to think by yourself. Maybe it is a good idea to skip the funjourney to Mexico and awoid kissing persons from there. Wash hands is allways good .But don't panic and take it easy. The world will survive this trying times even if the media don't believe so.

And again I'd like to refer to the bird-flu from 2006 and the horror scenarios the media had back then. Did anything happen?

I'm not saying that we should not take it seriously and that there isn't a chance that something very bad like a Influenza pandemic might could happen, but I don't think spreading panic is the right thing to do.

exactly...but most people fuss around like mad already, some friends of mine are even scared of leaving the house though there's not even yet been a confirmed case over here in Germany. It is to be taken serious, yeah, but that's kind of exaggerated...Every year about 1000 people in Germany die due to various forms of influenza but nobody's mentioning that.

Just kidding, but I think that some of the more extreme muslim and jewish people are so fucking happy right now. They are thinking that "I told you so, you shouldn't eat pork.. blah blah" and all that bullshit..

I was expecting the vegetarians to get all like that, seeing as how bird flu was the last big scare. They will soon.

50 million people died in the Spanish Flu pandemic in 1918, most of them healthy young adults. About half the world's population was infected by it, and this was before the advent of mass air travel. Worth thinking of!

Then again, with today's technology and knowledge, and better medical understanding, it's unlikely that's going to happen again.

That is the point. We're not living in 1918 anymore. I know what happened back then but we have 2008. This is why i didn't mentioned it.
