I thought this band deserved it's own topic.
It is not that well known outside of finland but they should be.

They just signed with spinefarm and there is a third album on the way.
They play Melodic Metal with lots of Hard Rock influence.

Judge yourself do you like it and what do you think about it.

www.leverageband.com is the site + there you can also watch the video for Mister Universe.

This band has grown to be one of my favourite bands lately and such songs as Dreamworld, Fifteen Years, Twilight Symphony (yes their own TS not the Strato one) Sentenced and Run Down are among their best works.
But there is no single song that I wouldn't have grown to like

Both Leverage and Brother Firetribe rock.
I've seen them both live earlier this year: Leverage with Kotipelto (but without Jens) and BF at their own gig.

I love Leverage and Brother Firetribe! Been into BFT for a while now, but my friend told me about Leverage, I noticed Pekka also sang for them, and I was immediately hooked and ran to buy their Blind Fire CD. Would love to see either band in the US doing a tour, but as I am now in Florida I'm hoping another great band doesn't pass up playing here, it's happening a lot!!!

They are now with spinefarm and the third one is according to Tuomas Heikinen the Guitarist composer already totally done and sent to spinefarm.
It will be released before christmas so they will propably go touring.

First album is simply amazing but blind fire was a big dissapointment to me.

I prefer Brother Firetribe way more. It's so cheesy and over-the-top tribute to the 80s I'm actually feeling happy listening to them all the time. :D Catchy as hell, they did it better than most of the actual 80s group. No miracle since they have Emppu Vuorinen on the guitars. Always liked his sense of style. He's not going for technical as hell solos (although I've heard him play those too) or anything fancy, just something that really support the songs and add to it. I also like his rhytm guitaring style.

While Pekka Ansio Heino sings in both bands it's no miracle that I, as others too it seems, compare them to Leverage. Leverage for me are pretty much too common sound melohard rock, although they're still pretty good. Learn to Live is actually one of the best songs of the last year for me.

I love them. They have that nice Kotipelto (the band) feel that is always nice to listen to when you don't want pure metal. Not heavy, but not too soft either. Just something that's fun to listen to.

Leverage is one awesome band, I love them so much.
They have some their style, which is great, and hope to see them live somewhere, as soon as possible!

I thought they're gonna be a support band for Strato on this tour, but unfortunately, they aren't.
Well, anyway, they should go on European tour with some bigger band, that Europe can meet this lovely band. :D

Are they succesful in Finland? I like them and I'd like to know if they're a well-known band in their home-country.

Well, I think they are not so big band in Finland, but they have the biggest audience there, 'cause it's their home land. :)
And surely they are successful there.

Yeah they are quite succesful.
Well their music can be heard in the radio and even in TV at times (Rise got to be a part of a sports documentary for example)

They are also getting quite good crowds in here.

Nice to hear. Is there a lot of Metal Music in Finnish TV and Radio? I've always been told that especially in northern Europe the mainstream media is much more open-minded when it comes to metal.

Well some.
Heavy metal fans are a whole type of people around here. It is in same kind of position as hip hop and rap is in America.
We have metal stuff coming from almost any radio station but way too seldom. The best radio station is definately Radio Rock which is quite metal based and some hard rock too.

And then there are sports events which are filled with metal and hard Rock (Ice Hockey and Floorball matches for example)
Most of metal videos make it in TV too.
The only problem is that there is so much metal coming and out that not ever band can get heard.
