Guitarist Wolf Hoffmann and bassist Peter Baltes have recruited Mark Tornillo, former lead singer of the New York/New Jersey metal band TT QUICK, to front the new version of ACCEPT. Tour dates are currently being booked and a new studio album is on the way.

ACCEPT 2009 is:

Wolf Hoffmann: Guitar
Peter Baltes: Bass
Herman Frank: Guitar
Mark Tornillo: Vocals
Stefan Schwarzmann: Drums

Two audio samples featuring the new ACCEPT lineup are currently available for streaming/download on the band's web site (taken from a jam session recorded on April 26, 2009 at Shorefire Recording studios in Long Branch, New Jersey):

"Flash Rocking Man": http://acceptworldwide.com/flashrockingman.html
Worst Metal news of the year. I know those guys are real talents, but there was a reason why Accept didn't work when they kicked Udo for the first time.

Oh you sonofa... At first I read it "Metal Legends Accept reunite WITH Udo Dirkschneider" :x

Usually I'm open minded when it comes to bands changing their lead singers, but Udo's fugly voice was such a big part of what made Accept for me.

I'm going to give it a chance, one thing I have learned over the years is that even if a big time singer is replaced that doesn't neccasarly mean that the band is going to suck.

I'd rather wait to hear the new material before I make a judgement on it.

Sorry, but the singer sucks. He sounds like he comes straight from a cover band. At least get someone unique and not a Udo rip-off.+

Funny that they got Schwarzmann, UDO's old drummer (Stefan Kaufmann, the drummer from the classic line-up, switched to guitar after a back injury and has been in Dirkschneider's band for more than a decade). Sounds like a cash grab to me, but if they produce something good, I'll check it out...

The same thing was said about Tim owens when he joined Judas Priest, they said "he just sounds like a rob halford clone" but I personally liked the Tim owens priest albums.

So before I "join the crowd" I'm going to check out the new material and see if I like it.

I think the same too. Until this day I think getting Tim Owens was one of the best moves that Judas Priest ever did and I still think that the reunion with Halford was rather dull. But with this guy...Tim Owens sounded like a worthy successor but this guy...

I just wanted to make the point that I'd rather wait to see what the new material sounds like before I start making pre-judgements.
