Finnish power metallers TWILIGHTNING have issued the following update:

"TWILIGHTNING decides to call it quits. We discovered the fact that the drive has vanished and there's no point of going on without the full force and motivation. Then we just not only would cheat ourselves but also our fans. Everyone continues to pursue their musical careers on their own projects and bands.

"TWILIGHTNING thanks all of its fans and everyone that has somehow helped or been there. The past eleven years has changed our lives."

Really sad. I honestly liked those guys.

I didn't and I don't feel bad for them at all.

Why do people pop into a thread to say they don't like a band?

I wonder what will happen to those guys. I really liked the singer.

I am friends with Heikki, the singer. Hes got some other projects going on but nothing thats really metal. I'll let you know if I find out anything new

They were a decent Power Metal Band that changed their sound to a more Hard Rockish sound like Edguy did. Their singer sang one song on Tolkki's Saana Album.

In my opinion their first album (Delerium Veil) is a masterpiece, but I didn't like the rest of their releases.
I think this is the best decision they could have taken.

I have three reasons.

1. I don't like the music
2. I don't like the themes
3. I don't like their attitude (ok this one is a fake)
4. It is said that they got the record deal right in front of Excalion. That was once somewhere in imperiumi.net on some review.

And what is so bad about the fact they got their record deal "right in front of Excalion"? Please explain that.

in Imperiumi the reviewer said that Spinefarm chose between these two bands which one to give a deal and they gave it to Twilightning.
Excalion then signed with Sound riot and as I have explained the situation with that in Excalion thread I'm not happy with it.
(I could have my Primal Exhale if they had signed with soe other label)
and as a huge Excalion fan it pisses me off when a band I don't like got the deal and like the reviewer said that Twilightning has chance to play big shows excalion even though having a lot of potential is forced to play in local small pubs.

I'm sad to hear this. I really like Twilightning. Heikki is a great singer; I hope he returns to a power metal band in the near future.

Well, that's life. But hating Twilightning for that reason is just fucking stupid. I mean, it is just the way things go. Sometimes you win, sometimes you loose. Excalion lost. But they got their record deal anyway and they're still going so...

And I still don't get what is suposed to be so great about Excalion. Their stuff is gut but nothing really outstanding.

That was just one of the reasons.
Like I said I don't like the msuic or the themes of Twilightning at all.

I understand that some people like this band but this isin't for me.

Just counting the stuff to 2002/2004 when they got the deal and relesed the first records, I would say it’s some of my favorite power metal.

Excalion singed their own fate by taking a bum label over shopping harder.

Really sad. They were an awesome band.

i have not heard twilightning play anything that excalian cant play other from twilightning having a singer with a different voice and a higher range. i find excalian to have great melodic songs. i found the twilightning demos, those things are awsome. i would be interested in hearing excalian demos bu i certainly think twilightning deserved a record deal. i'm not sure why its like spinefarm was the only label that could have singed either band though.

Why haven't they asked A.F.M. or Frontiers? Those guys are always signing meoldic metal bands.

Now this topic is creating masses of hate towards me for preferring another band and not liking this one?

I think the bands are similar enough that liking one should go hand in hand with liking the other but who knows it all seems random what people like and dislike.
