Megadeth is in the LA area tomorrow filming for a new music video for their new song Head Crusher and I've been fortunate enough to be cast as an extra! I've never done anything like this, but I love Megadeth and am really excited and honored to be even a small part of their history.

Your 15 minutes of fame...

Yesterday was so awesome! I got to the shoot 45 minutes early. Talked to some nice people inside while waiting. I went outside to have a smoke with some people and saw an ice cream sales man: it was hot. So I decided to buy a few ice cream drumsticks just to give away to break the ice with some people. I gave away some to the workers and unknowingly one seemed to have some kind of authority; later, this lady needed an extra vip and she called me up for the scene

So they took us back into this area with these prisoners and prison guards. The set was set up like a game show. We were told that the prisoners were going to be led out by the guards and Dave Mustaine would come out as a game show host and we were supposed to boo each prisoner until he reached this short one and then we were supposed to cheer. Dave Mustaine came out in this suit looked really calm and humble, he even smelled good I had a huge smile on my face as he approached but kept quiet and some drunk and Weird Al looking clown started yelling at Dave and he was like "pfff, what a redneck!" Anyway, it was awesome seeing Dave act and to give him our energy with crowd reactions. He started to pull the prisoner's masks off until they got to the short one which ended up being a girl! We did a couple scenes and that was it.

After another short hiatus the extras got called in as a whole to another set that was like a UFC ring. There was a hydraulic and rotating stage in the middle of the ring, fake barb wire on the fence around the stage and huge Head Crusher flags hung all around. Chris, Shawn and James came out and so did some actual UFC fighters. Basically we were supposed to rock out, give some crowd reactions to the fighters in the cage while the band and each band member did their own individual takes for their instruments while playing over a backing track. Shawn's drums were fake and he didn't have those suspended cymbals like he does on tour. Dave Mustaine came out and they did a bunch of various scenes with different extras and props: it was cool really cool when Dave shot his part because he was on the floor not on the stage and was walking around being really animated playing his axe and acting out all the guitar. Maybe it's cause of all the years he's been doing this stuff, but he seemed like a natural.

After 5 hours of expending all that energy, I was exhausted, even more so than after a real metal show. We went out and in the hall Chris Broderick was nice enough to take photos with the fans. I was out front of the studio making friends and talking about the video when Dave Mustaine came out. He was really quiet but super nice. He looked tired too but still signed autographs and took photos with us. It was really awesome to exchange words with him because he's truly one of my heroes. I really thought there was no chance to meet him so I didn't bother bringing anything cool for him to sign, so I pulled out a $20 and he signed it! After talking a bit more and exchanging some digits with some other fans, I took the 1 hour long journey home. I'm going to frame that $20 and put a metal plaque on there saying "In Dave we Trust"

Fuck, that must have been amazing, I so freaking envy you!

Awesome experience, I'm sure most of us here wish we were there as well.

Hey, thanks for watching and your interest! I noticed myself less than 10 times or so...right when it says "applause" right around 1:33 and the camera spins around towards the crowd, I'm the first one at 1:35 in the Red "back to the start" shirt. Finding me is basically like playing Where's Waldo I notice myself easily because I was wearing a red wrist/sweatband and that that red/black MD shirt.
