German metallers MOB RULES will release their sixth album, "Radical Peace", in November via AFM Records. The CD was recorded at Bazement Studio with longtime engineer Markus Teske (VANDEN PLAS, SPOCK'S BEARD, OASIS). A single, "Astral Hand", will precede the full-length CD in October.

"Radical Peace" will include MOB RULES' twenty-minute epic "The Oswald File", which deals with the assassination of John F. Kennedy and brings up the question whether the suspected (and later murdered) killer Harvey Lee Oswald really was the one who shot Kennedy.

MOB RULES filmed a video for the song "Astral Hand" on April 18 at Jahnhalle in Nordenham, Germany. Directing the clip was Ronald Mattes from ROAX Film, who also worked with the band on the "Black Rain" and "Last Farewell" videos.

Regarding the band's new label home, MOB RULES said in a statement, "We are happy that we signed with the label of our first choice. The well-known professional work of the company and their high-class artist-roster go well with us and our musical direction."

AFM added, "With MOB RULES we welcome one of the best and most consistent German melodic/power metal bands. We are convinced that we can support the band on their further way up. Furthermore we can announce one of the metal highlight of 2009 in 'Radical Peace', the band's heaviest and most diverse album so far. Expect some spectacular surprises!"

That's fantastic! Mob Rules is one of my favorite bands of all time. All their albums are rock solid, no weak songs, and you can always find little gems.

I'm really excited about this!

It seems to be pretty good, but it's so compressed it's full of artifacts, listening to it isn't exactly enjoyable.

I've listened to the Astral Hand EP, and it's great. Man On The Run is an awesome song, and the 2009 version of Hold On is a nice bonus as well (the "other" two songs are a cut version and an instrumental version of Astral Hand, so not much to see here).

This is very good material, Radical Peace is gonna be a very solid release, as usual. It's incredible how consistent Mob Rules albums are, there are no weak albums, no weak songs, no fillers or anything.

I love it. I downloaded it on friday (the day it was released) and I think I've listened to it more than 20 times already. I'll get it as soon as possible.

My favorites so far are Desperate Son, Trial By Fire and The Glance Of Fame, but all songs are really solid, really nice.

If I had to point out an area for improvement, it would be the lack of slow songs. The "slowest" song there is Astral Hand, which is not exactly slow. I miss songs like Celebration Day, End Of All Days, House On Fire, Unknown Man and, obviously, Hold On. These songs are very particular and define Mob Rules to me, they're slow yet they're not exactly ballads. They convey a lot of emotion.

Even though the slower songs are absent, they manage somehow to create songs that are "easy", even though they're fast. Once you get confortable with it, it's like time slows down and you can enjoy the songs in a very special way.

This album is very similar to Ethnolution A.D.. Klaus sings more aggressive than ever in some songs, but reaches beautiful clean notes in others.

Overall, it's another masterpiece. I rank it the second best album of the year, only behind Cain's Offering debut album. If you haven't listened to it yet, do yourself a favor and go grab a copy.
