ZAKK WYLDE Diagnosed With Blood Clots In His Lungs

BLACK LABEL SOCIETY has dropped off the remaining dates on the "Pedal To The Metal Tour" due to the health of frontman Zakk Wylde. Wylde has been diagnosed with blood clots in his lungs and was admitted to a Eugene, Oregon hospital this afternoon.
The "Pedal To The Metal Tour" will continue without BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, and the rest of the bands — MUDVAYNE, STATIC-X, SUICIDE SILENCE and BURY YOUR DEAD — will carry on with the trek as scheduled.
BLS apologizes to ticket holders on the remaining "Pedal To The Metal" dates for the inconvenience, as well as to all BLSNATION meet-and-greet purchasers who gathered for the event this afternoon in Eugene and in the remaining cities. BLSNATION refunds will be processed promptly.
Further updates on Zakk's medical condition will become available as they are known.
ZAKK WYLDE Issues Health Update - Aug. 25, 2009
BLACK LABEL SOCIETY frontman Zakk Wylde, who was diagnosed with blood clots in his lungs and was admitted to a Eugene, Oregon hospital this afternoon, has issued the following update via his Twitter page:
"To all our BLACK LABEL family worldwide, thanks for all the 'get-wells. Every 48 hours the [hospital] ER [emergency room] to check my blood. Had a CT scan [a painless, sophisticated x-ray procedure which obtains images of parts of the body that cannot be seen on a standard x-ray — Ed.] today and have blood clots in each of my lungs as well as my leg. can't sing because pushing can cause an embolism."
An embolism occurs when an object migrates from one part of the body (through circulation) and causes a blockage (occlusion) of a blood vessel in another part of the body.

It would make a good House episode. Famous rock musician collapses on stage, gets rushed to House's hospital, someone suggests lupus, House makes fun of everyone, then House has an epiphany while listening to some song about blood and the musician is cured. Then House gets to play with Ozzy Osbourne.

Well he's already got one hasn't he? I've heard on the grapevine that Firewind will take 2010 off, presumably for this reason.

Well he's already got one hasn't he? I've heard from the grapevine that Firewind will take 2010 off, presumably for this reason.
So I guess Ozzy will record 1 or maybe 2 albums with Gus, then Zakk will return like it already happened a few times before only that this time Zakk propably won't even be used in the Studio like the last few times.

Actually since Ozzy's albums have big gaps between each other I'm thinking most likely gus will do what Zakk did, he will do albums with Ozzy when the Ozz needs him and then in between do some firewind albums.

Well, I don't know Gus personaly but I doubt that he has the same problems that Tolkki had in the past. I doubt that he would leave his own band.

ZAKK WYLDE Checks In With Health Update - Sep. 1, 2009
BLACK LABEL SOCIETY last week dropped off the remaining dates on the "Pedal To The Metal Tour" due to frontman Zakk Wylde's health problems.
In a September 1 posting on his Twitter page, Wylde offers the following update on his condition: "I spent three days in a hospital in Eugene, Oregon where they gave me a 24-hour drip of Heparin [an anticoagulant which is used to decrease the clotting ability of the blood and help prevent harmful clots from forming in the blood vessels — Ed.] where they could monitor me. The next two days I received shots of Heparin into my stomach. Each shot lasted 24 hours. I was given a CT scan where they found three clots. I was then told each one of the clots passed through my heart.
"I just received an ultrasound. My left leg has a clot above the side and behind my knee, my calf and running into my heel. My right leg has a clot in between my calf and ankle.
"In a couple of days, I'll have another CT scan to see how my lungs are doing.
"On the brighter side of BLACK LABEL, they shaved off four inches from my love cannon, so Barbaranne [Zakk's wife] won't be in such excruciating pain as I hammer and plough my love into her Thor-style! Aside of that, all is peachy keen!"

Now that we know that Zakk is on the outs with Ozzy I wonder what he's going to do, is he going to stay with Black label society and just release albums with that band or is he going to start another band in addition to that?
