Again, it is a bit weird at first and to me it feels more like a musical than a rock album, but I like it.

Very true but I like Rhapsody of fire for that reason cause their albums are like a theatrical experience.

if they did it would be an accurate description, their music is like something you'd hear out of a movie.

As far as the Christopher Lee album goes I haven't heard it yet but it is on my list of things to get.

Sounds like Luca really wanted to ........make " Labyrinth Of Madness " sound like part of Jason Becker song.
Christopher Lee makes you want to fight trolls in the magic forest of " "

I just listened to the complete Frozen Tears of Angels album and I can say it's their best album since SOEL I. Really strong music. The first track is the best album intro ever!

I absolutely love the choir and orchestral parts on the album. Really strong but not over the top. Also the orchestral version of Sea of Fate is better than the normal album version.

Another great thing about this album is the more dominant use of Fabio's voice in the backing vocals. In the chorus of Lost in Cold Dreams for example.

My favorite track is Raging Starfire. One of the best choruses I've ever heard.

Definately buying this one when it comes out!

I have to say, this album really, REALLY disappointed me. I was afraid going in, knowing the album would be more guitar-oriented. Because really, Rhapsody of Fire has never been really good at composing interesting guitar and this album shows. I mean, it really shows.

Their strength, in my opinion, is in their vocal and orchestral compositions and the mix of the two with stereotypical power metal rifts. Which, with the lack of orchestra in this album, it takes away their one of their biggest strengths. Fabio sounds great, but very few parts of the album are any different than what he has done before, so it just comes off as repetitive.

The album also comes off as in a similar vein to me as Stratovarius' Black Album. It's trying to force energy into a dying band. And just like that album, it does not work. Everyone is technically great, with Luca doing possibly his best guitar playing in his career, but seriously, the entire band rarely ever has anything interesting to work with.

Giant fucking disappointment. The only song that captures any energy while still sounding fantastic is Reign of Terror, and that grows old after the first chorus.

Triumph or Agony's main problem was the complete lack of metal. Frozen Tears of Angels problem is that there is too much of it. There isn't a perfect balance between them like there was in the two SoEL albums. Rhapsody really needs to recapture that perfect balance.

I have to say, this is their worst music yet, next to Rain of a Thousand Flames. And I know it's a bonus track, but Labyrinth of Madness is the worst song they've ever written.

I sort of agree that it is really nothing new. But IMO Rhapsody has not done anything new since Dawn of Victory. :P I like all their albums. I even think ToA is in their top 3.

I like the new one very much. A nice return to their roots after the extremely mediocre Triumph or Agony.

+ 1

I think this new album is more in the vein of Power of The Dragonflame, wich is something I really like. :) Although I did like ToA too. It was a nice change to the style they did for so many years.

But now they've returned to their roots I think they should stick with that. It just sooths them perfectly.

I'm still absolutely in love with Dark Frozen World and Raging Starlight. :)

this album rocks! It is very dynamic and has imo the best solos both guitar and keyboard that the band has done. It's not quite as catchy as Power of the Dragonflamee, but its an epic album and a welcomed one at that.

Yes! The album is great, it's a return to the energy of their earlier works. I love it.

I didn't like all the screaming in one track (Reign Of Fire? Can't recall). But other than that it's a pretty powerful album.

Well I finally listened to The Frozen Tears of Angels.
At first it sucked, but with a few more listens you start getting used to the theme of the album. Entertaining enough to be in my iPod. :)

I think this guys gave us already all the best they had., for me they are just pleasing epic metal music lovers, without innovating or being the beatiful storytellers they were back 10 years ago when the shake the power metal or symphonic with their stlye. just saying!

I disagree. I do agree the that they don't really come up with something new anymore. But for me they are still the storytellers they were in the beginning. And while they don't really do innovative, new stuff I do think they still become better at their style. :)

Really looking forward to the new mini-amlbum! :D
